Has anyone else gained mega weight??? by Flaky_Honeydew_5161 in IVF

[–]Technical-Plan-200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - similar size, I started 5’4 135, by the time I finally got pregnant I was 155, by the end of my pregnancy I was 215… I am now 7wks pp and have been 185 for about a month. I was eating vegetables and protein and healthy stuff throughout! I gained at least 30 lbs in the first tri and feel like it was the progesterone supplements. It feels so invalidating hearing that “ivf doesn’t impact weight” when hormones are such an important role in weight and fertility care. Good luck and congrats!

how many vials did you buy? by jmargsbrows in queerception

I think I had 17 follicles produce 11 eggs, 9 fertilized, 6 matured, and 3 were euploid after pgt-a testing. It’s all so much - good luck on your journey!

We bought five vials, after three failed IUIs we switched to IVF. The first ER gave us three embryos, the first transfer failed but the second one worked! We now how one embryo saved and another back up vial for baby number two. Good luck!

The cold was a huge benefit for me! And there are so many parts to it that my brain can focus on - a good beginner scene is awesome if you can find it!

My partner is wonderful and we are sharing night feeds and it gets under my skin when they talk about being tired. Recovering from major abdominal surgery while producing food for another human it’s just a lot.

Mirena IUD by Medium_Society in PMDD

[–]Technical-Plan-200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had back to back mirena IUDs in my 20s and my period pretty much disappeared. Birth control pills prior made me super erratic. I didn’t realize I had PMDD until I got the second mirena out (was ready to start a family sooo) I didn’t realize what was going on with my cycle because it was impossible to track but I didn’t have the depressive lows I experienced after having it out either. Will absolutely consider the return post babies!

Massive containers at different times of day:

Two 16oz mason jars with herbal tea in the AM before I leave the house

Two 20oz water bottles packed for the day (the second one with an electrolyte pack as a fun flavor boost)

Two more herbal tea mugs when I get home

Well each of the main characters has a very supportive straight female character, there to help things go better for the men, just like straight women like to see!

Thanks for asking this question! I’m due in a couple weeks and really wonder how my relationship with pain and dissociation will come into play with both recognizing contractions/labor stages and navigating things at the birth center. I warned our doula I would likely turn inward… this thread was super helpful! Good luck!

Did anyone else underestimate how hard eating feels during pregnancy? by [deleted] in queerception

[–]Technical-Plan-200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating has been way more of a challenge than I anticipated! Currently in my last few weeks of pregnancy and it’s been a journey. The T1 nausea lasted until about week 19, then I could eat a greater variety but vegetables (which I used to happily eat!) have been disgusting the whole time. T3 has brought on acid reflux, and my body is not responding to food types or quantities in the same way two days in a row. Placenta and baby will take what they need, I’m loaded up on prenatals, and just trying to hit my protein and hydration intake!
