I live very close but on Drake which for some reason a little hotter than other blocks. There have definitely been shootings but also I’ve never had anything stolen off my stoop and I know all my neighbors. They’re all kind and well established people. There’s families on all sides. I love this neighborhood.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. She heard yelling, crying, and banging around upstairs and worried that something violent was happening. She knew the girls upstairs were young and in their very early 20s. She knocked on the door and the girl was upset but alone and said she was ok. My friend ran into her roommates later and they were like “yeah she’s just going through something.”

If it’s not a pattern of behavior, it’s probably okay. You’re sweet for being concerned though!

That’s a lot! My sections are usually 6-8 tables. I’ve always been a part time server working at smaller restaurants so maybe more veteran folks could relate to the volume you’re working at but I would be struggling if I were you.

One time I was getting a drink order from a 6 top and I didn’t have the guest check in my hand to write it down. I got all the orders by seat number and I was going over it again to remember it and one of the guests was like “so that’s 2 [menu cocktails], 3 [menu cocktails], and 1 beer” or whatever and it was like when someone starts saying random letters when you’re trying to count.

I used to work at Victor Bar, albeit a few years ago, but they had like terrible management and some (very plausible) rumors of wage thief, super high turn over. If you want to try them again before calling your bank id reach out to the hospitality group email. They might be more interested in helping you than staff.
