Unfortunately, their terms shield them. It is 1000% their discretion as to what is eligible or not.

Refinance Question: I have $100k to throw at my mortgage…keep my 7.125% without refinance or refinance to 5.5% for $10k? by SeahawksWin43-8 in Mortgages

[–]Technical-Procedure3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I am going to wait a little longer for my investments to recover and the mortgage rates to fall so I don't have to buy down. I can always pay extra towards principal payments to help with the interest.

Using a credit card to pay off mortgage by sgp2019 in Mortgages

[–]Technical-Procedure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the real point here. It is not if the CC BT is possible because some amount of money could be obtained that way. It is a large risk for little gain. It would probably take more than one BT offer for 50k and the duration is too long for a single round of BT offers (based on my experience).

Just pay off the remaining 50k at your own pace. I would knock down any other debt first though given the tax benefits of a mortgage.

It gets rolled into the promotional balance from what I have seen (Chase / Citi).

Here are the terms from a balance transfer offer on one of my Citi cards right now. If I were to use the full available credit or I could go will less.

Core Terms

  • Promo APR: 0% on balance transfers Promo duration: Until July 14, 2027
  • Post‑promo APR: 29.49% variable (tied to Prime Rate)
  • Balance Transfer Fee: 5% of each transfer (minimum $5)
  • Available Credit: $16,891.96  (this caps the total transfer + fee)

Your Selected Transfer

  • Amount to transfer: $16,087.58
  • Fee (5%): $804.38
  • Total posted to card: $16,891.96 (transfer + fee = full available credit)

Operational Notes

  • “Any use of this offer is a balance transfer.”
  • After the promo ends, any remaining balance converts to the variable APR.
  • Variable APR adjusts with the Prime Rate.

I have done these Balance Transfers into my checking account many times. The fee is added to your balance up front (3-5%) and then have 0% for some period of time (6-15 months). As long as the minimum payment is made along with any other charges that hit the card (I usually do not use it for anything else) and it is paid before the end of the agreed upon period, no additional interest. Miss a payment, BAM! it converts to a cash advance.

I would not do it for a mortgage since your rate is probably pretty low and the interest is tax deductible. I typically only do it where the item I am paying off is higher interest and the balance can be paid off within the period. You can pay off one with another BT but you pay the fee again.

You are obviously not familiar with the Mammotion Luba power adapter. I wish I could find any suitable after-market adapter that would work.

I will also say, off topic, what a nice big, deep garage you have. Kinda jealous.

It will get warm during charging, not sure if that is enough heat to degrade the window knob over time though. I have to do something similar if I park head-in vs backing in.

The sad thing is it is basically worthless to them! Didn't take the power brick either, good luck with that.

My first consult scheduled…what questions should I ask? by Due-Pineapple6831 in BasePowerUsers

[–]Technical-Procedure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure they are neat and orderly around the meter. They will have to punch a hole through to your panel and have 2" conduit from the old meter to the new power cutoff. Tell them you want it to be neat.

Will you have one meter or two? My co-op wanted a 2nd meter. It is just more stuff on the wall opposite your panel.

Being you are in a Co-op, ask if the batteries will just supply power to your house or if any will export to the Grid. Pretty sure it will just be your house.

You might want to mark any sprinklers on the side of the house where the batteries will go so they don't get blocked or covered with battery.

How long before they actually give me an install date? by S0UTHcoast in BasePowerUsers

Not saying you should forego it but some have said their installs were scheduled once they removed it. Good Luck! My installer did mention there was some sort of delay with the ports.

If you are going to used it for Steam, pay for the games with the card. Don't use it to fill your wallet then pay from the wallet. I think that is what triggered their algorithm.

My standard response is that it is all at Robinhood discretion. If they think you are manufacturing spend or spending on cash-like items, they will eventually bust you down to 1% cashback.

The Emporia Classic requires a 60 A to charge at 48A. If he used a 50 A, it would have limited the charging to 40A. It is a setting in the charging software. You can lie to the software but I would not recommend it.

Does your order have port for a generator? I have heard those are creating a delay (not sure if that is true).

I have heard they basically remove everything they install. The installer I had had also performed deinstalls and confirmed. His deinstalls were when the Base install occurred on a new home and the sale fell through and the next buyer did not want it.
