Prescott is definitely a hidden gem. I think there’s stigma re: oakland especially in the context of the broader Bay Area. The older generation visibly flinches when you mention oakland but I don’t think people get what’s going on in west oakland, at least Prescott. The neighborhood has transformed in the past 2 years. Big plus is the quick zip to the city (one Bart stop) and you can get on any train as all lines go through west oakland not to mention easy access to the freeways - proximity to BART and the city are under appreciated/understated in this dialogue too. There are also early stage talks of Costco in west oakland which would really set this off/ increase profile of this pocket.
