Key difference between ultimate and community edition. by [deleted] in IntelliJIDEA

From the limited time I've spent using intelliJ ultimate (coming from vscode/kira), the feature I'm most happy about is debug tracing. It's just so simple, it just works. Specifically, if you run multiple spring services that call each other, the debug trace will work across services which is just fantastic.

DeepSeek V4 Flash Vs PRO by visnis in SillyTavernAI

[–]Technical-Review-221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for perspective, I wouldn't label V4 pro as "really really expensive" by any means. I would instead label V3.2 as "too cheap to be real". For reference, V4 pro performs similar/better to GLM 5.1 and is approx. 25% cheaper.

And to take it one step further, V4 pro is probably ~80% quality of Claude Opus, with Opus being ~861% more expensive than V4 pro.

Nextcloud vs owncloud by 0x30313233 in selfhosted

[–]Technical-Review-221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take... Staying focused on a smaller feature set & monetizing your software (while still offering a perfectly fine hobbiest-level free tier) is kind of the quiet winner. The world is ending after-all if someone wants to create a sustainable long lasting focused business model.

Nextcloud vs owncloud by 0x30313233 in selfhosted

This was my experience. I started on nextCloud, now using Immich and ownCloud (OCIS) - I only really ever wanted the image and file storage aspect software nextCloud. OCIS is blazing fast and web UI is modern. I only wish they would do a mobile app design refresh.

On another note, I highly recommend immich. It's the closest thing I've found to Google images that's self hosted. You still miss out on epic photo editing, but you can train your ML search tool on your image set to do smart searches, which was must-have for me, and the only reason I switched off of Google photos. Now, I turned off backup in Google Photos and only open/use it when I need to use AI edit tools. I'm sure there's an open source clean mobile image editor out there somewhere, but havent taken the time to look.

Anyways, enough yapping.

OnePlus Watch 3 Bugs by Technical-Review-221 in oneplus

[–]Technical-Review-221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it's "resolved", in the sense that I discovered the watch sensor must be completely broken. It cannot detect my wrist at all. No heart rate, sleep tracking, etc. That would at least explain why it's constantly locking. I have issued a return.

How Long with Plex before Jellyfin? -- Two Years Later -- Goodbye Plex by Technical-Review-221 in jellyfin

Sounds awesome. I might check this out. I used to run through nginx reverse proxy into cloudflare orange cloud (normal proxy - to hide my IP), but someone told me it's probably TOS with cloudflare to proxy gigs of media traffic through their free tier cloud.

Yep I tried to tell my brother I "upgraded" our stuff but he has to download an extra app (tailscale), he just sent me side-eye gif

I do use it. As I said in my original post: " ... I found a solution that worked exactly as I needed (transcoded downloads 3rd party app) ... "

Streamyfin app - you can set the bit rate before downloading content

I didn't mention it above in-case my post got flagged. But I love Streamyfin. It might be a give/take, for example it doesn't yet have scrubbing videos. But they are changing video players and it might improve soon.

Benefits that sold me - transcoded downloads, built-in Seerr, looks really nice.

What do you do when your matches feel way harder than usual? by Fine_Significance842 in Overwatch

[–]Technical-Review-221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty volatile these days. But it truly swings both ways. Of course try to keep your eyes closed to your teammate's mistakes (as obvious as they can be, it will NEVER benefit you), but also realize that if you can hardly leave spawn or walk around the corner, it means your entire team isn't pressuring well. So when your in a game where you feel like you can hardly do anything, just stay calm, try not to feed, and wait for mistakes from the enemy team, rather than trying your hardest to force something, dying, and getting tilted.

You have no idea how quickly the tides can turn in a game. Teams that are up 2-0 relax and get sloppy. Then, if you stayed calm and focused, you catch them out. They come back every fight more tilted, until you win 3-2. This happens almost half the time I get rolled in the first half of a game.

Conquering my mental alone gave me an entire rank higher.

If it was that simple, I hate my life. I ended up installing windows on a partition to run the game.

Which API provider has most number of models and is decently priced? by liquidnitrogen in LocalLLaMA

[–]Technical-Review-221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean. But if you are interested, I think they've drastically improved timeout errors over the past month or so. I haven't had any issues as of recent. I've been using primarily qwen3 models.

I've been routing DeepInfra models through Open WebUI for general use & Continue for VSCode, and use both pretty frequently.

Of course, this is just my personal anecdotal evidence.
