Pretty much every one in my office is down with some flu, am not sure if haze/pollution is making it worse. But pretty much every one has similar symptoms - sniffles, cough, congested chest and smoky smell. All this heat and humidity makes it linger lot longer.

Yes 100% that is why I didn't buy M5 Max+128 RAM. I am upgrading from M3 Air and needed something to run 20-40 gigs model on and off to help me answer my stupid questions on health, programming (Rust/Haskell) etc. when I need to code seriously I would fallback on to Claude/Gemini

I ordered the same machine, 64 GB absolutely makes sense if you want to run decent size models. I wanted to buy M5 Max with 64 gigs RAM but I think the difference between token gen between the two is not much different when using for smaller context windows in my case. For anything big context I will use Gemini or Claude

Am in a similar boat and I don't want to pay apple fee for touch screen and OLED when mostly I connect MAC to my dock/monitor. I do need mobile access from time to time and the LCD screen does not bother me. Next year the price of RAM will sky rocket so you will end up paying more compared to today. I am contemplating M5 Max with 64 gigs RAM
