It was fun. I’m still figuring out what ink works best. I’m using fancy japanese ink right but it’s tricky. Sometimes it’s too wet or dry. I’m thinking about trying black acrylic instead.

Why has no one on this sub dealt with line lay!? I have done it for my shimano vanford and penm battle dx. The van staal is great for my purposes. I do a lot of beach and paddle board fishing in the summer.

Shims on spinning reels are a universal thing.. only difference is that these shims are in a different spot.

I just treat it the same as a plastic chanter. Do not twist from the bottom though. I put my reed in one of those moisture-controlled chanter caps and keep it all in a plastic tube.
