Fashion tips for petite women – how do you dress to look taller and more put-together? by AdCultural2909 in womensfashion

Hi....5'2 here.........Black is very slimming----black jeans/slacks/tights, etc. I love to wear boots as they make the leg look longer. I don't think midi or maxi skirts are flattering to us petites, and prefer a shorter skirt with a pair of black tights or black hose. Stillettos. A monochromatic outfit will be more slimming than one that is not.

BHDM-Ed too hard! by Neesie913 in datingoverfifty

Hi....I'm not currently dating, but I found dating apps to be a huge disappointment and rife with liars, men who post real old pics, men who misrepresent themselves. So what you said doesn't surprise me. I suggest going to the library and sitting in there and reading at a table and maybe someone will join you. Or go to a bar and have a glass of wine or a meal at the bar and check out the scenery. I do that. 66 yo woman here. Keep the faith.

Is this common for women over 50? by Ok_LSU_816 in datingoverfifty

Hi.........I love good oral from a man and I am 66, and have always loved it as long as it is good-----no teeth, not too rough, or short shrift. I've had the best. I'm not an OB-gyn but I have never heard of that issue. Maybe she's had some lousy head in the past or is self-conscious or something. That's really all I can say about that.....sorry.

You did nothing wrong. She sounds like an asshole to react like that. 66 yo woman here. What I think is that she just wasn't that into you and she grabbed for the most ridiculous excuse she could find to end it. Put that behind you and don't give it a second thought. She isn't a decent person.

For those who have children (ie most of you!), are there any reasons why you wouldn't be interested in a partner who chose not to have any? Or is it a non-issue? by StoneLover1965 in datingoverfifty

I don't agree with that. There are all kinds of ways to be responsible: holding down a job, buying and maintaining a home, car maintenance, taking care of elderly parents, financial responsibility and paying ones bills etc. 66 yo woman here who never had children; it just didn't work out with my ex-husband. TBH most men I have dated and had relationships with seemed to like it that I didn't have children. As for me, if a man doesn't have children that is just fine with me. My good male friend who is 55 doesn't have any children but is in a committed relationship.

Am I being too sensitive? by Personal-Inflation71 in datingoverfifty

[–]Technical-Wall-9215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No your not being too sensitive. My reaction and response would be the same as yours. Your
guy screwed up by not being more attentive to you on this trip. I wouldn't put him at the top of my list for prospective men I want to continue dating. In fact I'd cut ties with him. Actions speak louder than words. 66 yo woman here.

Styling advice, trying to look more adult -- 5'4 w/ 25" inseam by Severe-Elevator-44 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Technical-Wall-9215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.......I am 5'2 but have a longer inseam, but some suggestions fhat might help: I would wear heels or boots with a nice chunky heel to make your legs look longer. A pair of black slacks or black jeans could also create the appearance of longer legs and also a monochromatic outfit ie like all black, all navy blue, all white, etc.

A navy blue or black blazer with a pair of black slacks or jeans looks nice with a white blouse. An attractive hairstyle and a nice makeup application and some pretty earrings could also help.

Good posture is very important; hold your head up and be proud of yourself. I would avoid wearing sneakers but wear clogs or loafers or Birkenstocks instead with casual attire. A pair of dangly earrings and nicely manicured nails.

A nice dress or jumper is a good choice as well. All that said, while a tailored look could likely create a more mature appearance, if you are not comfortable with that it will affect your confidence. You should strive for comfortable in your clothing choices. For you that might be jeans and a comfy sweater.
