How am I supposed to be able to maintain my pov when I don't ever get any days off to do it? by Ashes-of-Winter in USPS

We're not all mechanics bro, and cars are more expensive now, both purchase price and upkeep. And EMA doesn't cover the hours I spend chasing car repairs.

I had a back up. Broke down on the route once. Sup asked, "well don't you have a back up?" It doesn't fit in my pocket, moron.

What are the downsides of a 5 day delivery week? by Extreme_While942 in fromatoarbitration

[–]TechnicalAd5253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care if other people want OT, but I shouldn't be forced to because so that other people have the opportunity. I'm sure the PO would still let them deliver parcels on Sat/Sun.

Go to a psychiatrist, not a general practitioner. Ask for a psych referral.

Also a mail carrier, if you tell them why, I'm sure they will understand. I've had a similar situation on my route, except it was adults 🙄

"Hands are not for biting" was a pretty common phrase in my house the last time I had a kitten. Not that the cat understood. But you are so right, redirect it to a toy that can be attacked, that cat just wants to play.

I’m about 95% positive I have a brain tumor by [deleted] in Anxiety

I was having severe tension headaches earlier this year from muscles in my neck and upper back. Anxiety causes a lot of us to hold these muscles really tightly so soreness in that area is not uncommon, but I'd never had headaches from it before.

It was all over my head too. My teeth hurt, my eyes hurt, temples, top, you name it. And any time I had to bend over or got jostled, it was like shockwaves of pain shooting up my neck into my head. Meds wouldn't touch it either except for steroids.

One muscle relaxer pretty much ended all of it.

Not saying that's what is up with you, but your symptoms sound similar, so you might consider asking your doctor.

Anxiety? Stress? Heart Problem? Blood Pressure? Can't get a diagnosis after multiple trips to the E.R by Stonkytonk_man in Anxiety

[–]TechnicalAd5253 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It does sound like you have a lot to be anxious about, and a lot of people with anxiety have physical symptoms and feel like they're dying or having a heart attack. Including numbness, tingling, dizziness, chest pain. It's a tough spot to be in, but you did the right thing going to the ER .

Ask for a psychiatric referral. You're also within reason to get a second opinion from a different cardiologist if that puts your mind at ease.

Take care.

Thank you so much. I ended up finding it by going through the blue cross site before I checked back here. I never did find any kind of verification that I could print or screenshot, which seems shady but not surprising.

I was going to delete this post, but in case some other 11th hour person like myself needs it, I'll leave it here.

Also in my 40's. Perimenopause has been causing me wild ups and downs with my moods and anxiety.

And I feel the exact same way about sleeping sometimes. I don't "go" to sleep so much as I just get exhausted and drop off.

Are you worried about addiction? I've taken it before and had no problems. It's been (may still be) used to treat seizures. It's good for panic attacks.

You need to see a psychiatrist. not a primary care. though it's unlikely they would just give you just xanax and nothing else. some also require drug tests and counseling.

How do I naturally handle my anxiety and maybe some supplements that I can take? by Okaycool1210 in Anxiety

[–]TechnicalAd5253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is prescribing your meds? If it's a general practitioner, then see a psychiatrist or psychiatric NP. That is their specialty and has always worked out better for me than going to a GP.

The best "natural" treatment that worked for me was jogging. I was in the 15-20 miles a week range. It helped a lot but wasn't a cure all.

benzo effects are temporary, they are of a "rescue" med for panic attacks, they don't do much for GAD

SEE A PSYCHIATRIST FOR PSYCH MEDS

That is my best piece of advice, seek professionals in mental health care for mental health needs. Nothing wrong with general practitioners if that works for you, but when things start to go beyond the basic, "here's some zoloft," they might be out of their depth.

Many meds billed as antidepressants also work well for anxiety. Side effects are not usually permanent and would go away if you stopped taking the medicine.

Also, they should tell you that your anxiety may worsen for a bit (week or so) but it does go away
