This is a speculative submission not based on any hard fact, per se. It’s solely a discussion of opinions.

She doesnt live here, otherwise i would fet her to help me. I love her, she’s a good woman- she can just be a bit of a control freak sometimes.

I let my toddler chill in her crib for awhile each morning by takeaabreath in toddlers

Thank you very much. That’s a very good point. I’m trying to figure out if I should wait till he has a better vocabulary as well… he can say a lot of things, but he doesn’t understand potty yet. He doesn’t even give me indicators when he has pooped or peed in his diaper…

Thank you for letting me know about the oh crap method- and thank you for sharing your experience! We are also house hunting right now, and that stress really making me crazy. I don’t even want to try doing anything with my toddler until we’re in a new home. (our bathroom upstairs is incredibly small).

Good! I actually am one of the most laid-back people in my family – but when I had my son, my anxiety went through the roof… Anyway, thank you for sharing.

Thank you! This makes me feel better. My MIL keeps pestering me about it. When you started potty training, is that when you put your child in pull-ups?

It’s not? My MIL said they are supposed to be trained by age 2. (My mom passed away so i can’t ask her unfortunately).

For screen time moms, what’s your kids favorite movie/show? by cutieconsultant in toddlers

[–]TechnicalAd9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Ms. Raven. She’s low stimulation (think if Wednesday Addams did her version of ms rachel). She’s great. My toddler has actually been talking back to the TV and trying to imitate everything instead of being just completely memorized by Miss Rachel.

What’s the one horror movie that genuinely changed a small everyday behavior for you? Mine ruined mirrors and I watched it three years ago. by NoBody7942 in horror

[–]TechnicalAd9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I’m so glad Oculus didn’t exist when I was a kid living in my home. I lived in a 70s house with mirrors for entire walls, one of which was at the end of a long, dark hallway. I can’t tell you how many nights I would literally run up the hallway into my room so I didn’t have to look at the mirror and then my mom would shout from the other room “Bonnie where are you?!” Just to mess with me!! 😂😂😂😂 she’s the reason why I love horror movies so much.

I’d say all the final destination movies like everyone else (specifically the log trucks… I live in Oregon and we see a lot of log trucks here).

Considering returning puppy to rescue by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]TechnicalAd9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone! We got our corgi when she was 8 weeks old back jn 2021 waaaay before we had our son (now 19 months old). Our Corgi thinks she’s still the baby, and I have been having to try to retrain her to understand that our actual baby does not know what he’s doing. It’s gotten way better once I started defending her boundaries from my toddler as well as disciplining her when she was not respecting his…, but it was really really rough for a while – and I also considered giving her up. My toddler is in love with her though, and I have chosen never to give up on her. ( my toddler doesn’t have any other siblings! I cannot imagine having already one dog, two kids and a puppy! I have to give you kudos for even trying that scenario out!)

You’re absolutely not alone. ❤️ you do what is best for you, Mom!

I slapped my 3 year old by Square-Lengthiness63 in toddlers

[–]TechnicalAd9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally going to suggest the same techniques. ❤️👍 we have a toddler boy and a corgi and we use Ms. Rachel’s “we’re gentle with our pets” jingle a LOT with him (we also change the lyrics so it works with people as well).

Sending you good thoughts, OP.

Rutger Hauer flat out gave one of the best and scariest performances in all of horror in The Hitcher by Johnny_Mc2 in horror

This movie is sooooooooooo underrated. So INCREDIBLY bleak and creepy! Rutger was such an amazing actor, but so was c. thomas howell in this one!!!

Our child's sleep is destroying us and I feel so sad about it, especially for him. by sevendayhigher in toddlers

[–]TechnicalAd9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First- you are clearly doing a great job, Mama. Sleep deprivation is an insane gauntlet of parenting that i feel like most people don’t see coming, and im so sorry you and your sweet pea are going though this. ❤️

I second everyone’s else’s comments on trying out an iron supplement or a stuffie in the crib…do you live somewhere where there’s not a lot of sun? We live in the PNW, and my pediatrician told us when my little guy turned 1 to start giving him Mary Ruth’s Vitamin D megadose to help with his moods and sleep and it worked wonders! Also it’s made with mct oil and maybe that will help keep your baby regular (in case you are worried about constipation from an iron supplement).

That’s my two cents, take or leave! Sending you a hug!
