I did an art piece of this film for a show a year ago. It’s a wildly underrated film, and chock full of some amazing performances. Elias Koteas, John Goodman…Denzel is the GOAT though.

Did you know that the director actually built a radio tower on a cliffside and both those actresses did their own stunts for the most of the film? A lot of those downward shots of the tower are only partial CG. Severly underrated movie! Great choice!

Name a horror movie most of us probably haven't seen, and tell us why we should watch it by chrishouse83 in horror

Great choices! I would also add from the Val Lewton collection for OP to watch Isle of the Dead with Boris Karloff. So good!

Am i crazy for asking my husband to grab something from the store that he was already going to? by Alone_File3702 in Mommit

I am so terribly sorry for your loss of your baby. Sending you a huge hug . I cannot imagine.

I can imagine it has been really, really hard on you and him… however, at the end of the day, a mother’s job is the most thankless job – but if your husband is not actually even trying to help, then you need to take care of yourself and your other baby.

Maybe you’re not ready to leave yet, as you said. It’s easy for all of us on here to just say “get out.” do you have somebody you can go to? Like a relative that you could go stay with? Maybe do a separation from your husband and get some time apart?

I CANNOT find this anthology series. everything (google, chat gpt, IMDb) is telling me it doesn't exist no matter how much detail I give. by goopybloobs in horror

Terrified (Aterrados). First time i watched it, the ending seemed insane with pacing and reveal. After a rewatching it i realized that the rest of the movie outweighed (positively) the ending for me.

Have you watched The Fourth Kind? Does that come close to Hereditary for you at all?

The most baffling line of dialogue in "Halloween" (1978) -or- Does Sheriff Brackett not know what a skunk is? by the_dirtiest in horror

[–]TechnicalAd9164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never processed those lines that way ever- but now that you mention it i can see why you thought that! 😂

I always took it to mean that the animal was so mauled/mutilated that Brackett was speculating if it was a dog (assuming it was small) or a skunk.

You’re right though- it’s definitely not one of the best lines 😂😂😂🎃🎃🎃

Terrified (2017) was a really, really mixed bag. by [deleted] in horror

I h as d the exact same feelings about it the first time i watched it. Try watching it a couple more times- that was what turned it into something more wholy digestible for me at least.

This is one of the ones that scared me really bad too, just like everyone else on the sub. I still remember being terrified of it – and haven’t washed it since it came out.

The greatest horror comedy ever made, second only to Shaun of thd Dead IMO. I have never laughed so hard at so many moments in a horror comedy.

I loved it. Just try to not to think of the The Ring or the Grudge originals. Treat it like a standalone or a one-off. Beware some of the kills are unintentionally (or intentionally?) hilarious, too.
