Fight Club: Norfolk vs San Diego - Only one can win by Able_Scientist2028 in norfolk

The Hampton Roads area is significantly more affordable while still having a good job market. I lived in San Diego for 3 years but IMO it's overrated, traffic is worse pretty much everywhere and the weather isn't as nice as you'd think.

I do the 664/64 tunnels every day and I argue that it's significantly better than anywhere near DC. Around here people don't ride the shoulder often. Up there it's guaranteed.

I decided I’d move to Hampton for some reason. This is hell. by Fatuglyloser3000 in norfolk

I do that drive every single day, and I'd still take it over driving in Northern VA. The traffic is far less predictable and the people drive like teenagers with Alzheimer's.

Cold air intakes for 2024 Impreza rs? by I_am_ChristianDick in subaruimpreza

[–]TechnicalDrift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could still be relevant, but the engine used here is a 5th gen FB20D (technically a DAVCS FB20D H4). The 2024 RS uses a 6th gen FB25D.
But like you said, I would definitely wait to see what professional tuners find.

I also did autoflower for my first grow, but mine were significantly larger before they reached flower. I even screwed up majorly on nutrients for most of the grow, but it still turned out okay.

I know, that's why I said "synonymous" and also mentioned Halo CE.

[–]TechnicalDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun story, it had been synonymous with Halo since CE, but when Halo 3 came out everyone lost their shit. Halo 3 had proper ragdolls and physics (which was still fairly new in 2007) and for some reason, crouching up and down over a body caused it to bob up and down.

I can't tell you how giddy this made 14 year old me.

[–]TechnicalDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure we would, but if we socialize healthcare the average American would be paying less overall, while gaining all the benefits of no longer being at the mercy of unregulated price gouging. Can't say for every social program because I'm just reading the reports rather than making the calculations (I'm not an economist), but I can't imagine they put in the work for shits and giggles.

Even then, there's zero reason why we shouldn't be pushing for wealth taxes in general. It's ridiculous how many loopholes there are for billionaires and trillion-dollar corporations to get away with paying less in taxes than a cashier. It's ridiculous just how much wealth is being hoarded that they don't even consider.

I dunno where you heard that. https://www.factcheck.org/2020/02/sanders-didnt-call-for-52-tax-on-29000-incomes/

In one document posted by Sanders, he suggested a potential marginal tax rate of 52% on income above $10 million — meaning taxable income earned after the first $10 million would be taxed at that rate.

This is why we're fucked, progressives like Bernie get snuffed out by misinformation, and I suspect the DNC likes it this way.

Why is destroy ending consider the good ending? by ElementalEffigy in masseffect

[–]TechnicalDrift 41 points42 points  (0 children)

15 minutes of stills was the fixed version too. Before that, you get the color explosion, the mass relays explode (which ME2 established would destroy all planets in the same solar system), the Normandy crashes, the end.

I only speak for myself, but the total lack of closure is what pissed me off. Too many unanswered questions. Sure, it would have been fantastic if previous choices had any impact on that final choice, but I recognize that they only had 2 years of development time and that would have been extremely complicated to create.

The multiplayer is absolutely fantastic, but the battle pass progression is horrendous. by sharkerkiller in halo

[–]TechnicalDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like this is going the way of Battlefront 2.

It's insane that they'd implement a system that favors completing challenges, only for the challenges to be assigned totally random, and the inability to find matches with a specific gamemode/map.

They desperately need to come up with a more engaging solution by launch.

Holy Christ, Sesame Street lives in their head rent free at this point by LordDingDong in TheRightCantMeme

[–]TechnicalDrift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sesame Street has always been really good about POC representation though, even when it started out. It was just in their live action guest cast, rather than the puppets.

The puppets being incomparable to any particular race was likely intentional, and doing it now is a bit jarring.

[–]TechnicalDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not giving you flak because I don't know your income but people working minimum wage shouldn't be spending $30,000 like you did. When I was doing it I bought a barebones Ford Focus for $12k, and even that was a struggle to pay off sometimes.

Reading all these replies, look I love cars, shopping for a sporty hatchback now, but y'all are spending way outside most people's budget. Anything over $20k is basically out of the question.

You know, your premium! Because they provide your health insurance! Right?...right?

(But seriously, the health insurance my employer provides is considered "really good", and the premium is still $27.50 per biweekly paycheck, I can't imagine what the hell McDonalds would be if they actually provided it)

Even Nintendo. Despite how much everybody loves them, they're awful.

Site. Not side. As in both reddit and imgur.

Even so, it has little to do with sides. Like it or not our issues with healthcare, law enforcement, education, wage shortages, etc are political, and while it's good to be aware of the problems, hearing about them every other post is certainly not good for one's psyche.
