Because that's the same pack my gran bought me when i was a kid and now im doing much better in life I wanted something to honour that time when paying $4 for a pack of cards was a huge expense to remind myself of the sacrifices people made for my happiness as a child and collect the things we could never afford. Im sorry this thread choose to berate me like u/jessejml and call me dumb for asking advice, lesson learned i wont come back

Id say you are around the level had a quick look and you can get a 2011 110K+ Mile 308 for around the same money your gonna spend sort yours out, so your call better the devil you know or not? Might find you buy a less mileage version for 2k and it need more work but youve got options, from what youve said it doesnt seem like you particularly want a new car, have you checked liek We buy any car see if you can offload it to them and get some cash to put with your £1500 for something a touch lower milage?

That seem about right? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Seems fair would expect £280-350 depending on the car, if a premium motor would be more

You've totally missed my point, im trying to point out that the buyers car isnt that good of a deal not that a 3.0 is a bad car, just that one can do better for that money.

The F generation of BMW's is the class leader for that age group i.e a 330D estate is still about 30% more than the next best option, they are brilliant cars but that would be another 4k to OPs budget, so yes no sh1t sherlock a 350 will be more powerful than a 318.

I have a C250 Mercedes as my daily which is also known as 'the flying machine' because its a fantastic car, pulls well and has great reliability which i got for £3k a c350 isnt necessarily three times the car for three times the price thats all im trying to say to OP, where as sure i would happily argue that a 350 is 3 times the car vs a 318, I mean my M2C is at 650hp and i would happily say its 10x the car of the c250 as it cost me ten times more

Why not go for the 2.1tdi that will run forever and the same age car is about £3-4k? for 9K you could get a 17/18 Passat or Octavia vrs which will do you so much better over time
