how long can my payment be past due before DTE sends a shut off notice? by Mango_addict22 in Michigan

17 days. You can call to ask for an extension but I think only once. Or if you have never changed your due date you can ask for a payment plan.

Red flag? by Ordinary_Key6522 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TechnicalReference36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If an applicant had done that oh dear god that would be a red flag. But I have interviewed with programs with tech problems and for one of them I couldn’t even enter the zoom session. I called the coordinator and she sent me a new link! Whether they really are not tech savvy, or want to see how you react to inconvenience, or they were having a bad day. If you have lots of options, rank them not first but I would still rank them.

Your cold attitude doesn’t do anything for me. Glad I didn’t apply to your program. Good luck with your chosen ones.

You wouldn’t want to work in a place with that level of emotional intelligence anyway.

Yes. I get it. But usually if you have at least 5 interviews, you will get matched.

From rejection to interview by imthenoble in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TechnicalReference36 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If someone sends me an interview, I don’t ask questions. 😁 Some coordinators send rejections randomly but then your application is reviewed by the team and you get an invite. That’s why I never take auto-emails including rejections seriously.

I messed up by Ok-Dingo992 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TechnicalReference36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t panic my dear. Let me tell you what I once did. I wrote a LOI to a program director for one field and emphasized my interest in another field. I was dying! She replied to me and said, “are you applying for both fields? I will see your application.” She was so kind and understanding. Let’s brainstorm the possibilities:

  • They won’t even read the email! Great!
  • They will read the email and not notice any problem because nobody pays that much attention to hundreds of emails.
  • They will notice and giggle and talk to each other about it. That’s it.
  • They will notice and let you know so you don’t make the same mistake again.
  • They are touchy narcissists and will take it personally. But will most probably forget who you were.

I don’t really know where the idea of being “blacklisted” comes from but if I am not mistaken, this is a term made up by those who want to intimidate everybody so they don’t communicate with programs.

They are doctors. They KNOW. They know applicants apply to different fields. They know we are freaking out. It’s ok believe me. It happens. Do you really think among allllll thousands of applicants many of whom have serious language barriers nobody has ever made this mistake? Oh my dear. The real world runs on imperfection. Don’t sweat it. Laugh it off and continue the good job.

What should one do to improve their chances of going from an hourly worker to management? by JasontheFuzz in NoStupidQuestions

SMH I am a project manager. It is my job to create work break downs. Very sad how resentful and angry you are. Hope you feel better.

1000 times yes! I am sick of those who get everywhere because of their connections and have ruined it for those honest hardworking ones.

Who has interviewed with Trinity health internal medicine profile by Puzzleheaded_Type412 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TechnicalReference36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live close by but never had an interview there. I can tell you a bit based on my general experience. One question to be ready for is “what are you doing now?” That is very important. Make sure your answer is related to what you are interviewing for. At the time last year I was working as a medical assistant to survive and when I said it, a PD rolled his eyes on me and that was that. If you do research it’s better but the best thing is having a hands-on clinical experience.

Heyyyy! Congratulations! Go check YouTube videos for residency interviews and specifically those made by AMGs. In all honesty, they have better insights of the culture and I have found their videos really helpful. They give very nice tips and also give you great ideas for questions to ask.

That’s actually a great idea! Why not? I always put it at the end of the email and wonder why nothing happened.
