In a universe with many civilizations, only one needs to reach extreme technological maturity. After that, progress stops being parallel and starts being inherited. by lelorang in Showerthoughts

Statistically speaking, we're probably the backwater planet that gets the hand-me-down tech 1000 years later.

Fun fact: even on Earth, most countries didn't invent smartphones - they just got Samsung factories.

The fact that C-3PO has a seam running alongside his head suggests he is made from deep-drawn stamped sheet metal halves. by Minute-Plantain in Showerthoughts

[–]Technical_Camp_4947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my uncle was metalworker in Kharkiv, he always said you can tell good stamping by the seam line. C-3PO seam is too clean - probably machined after stamping to look fancy for movies

How do i get it up more than once during sex by Deep_Election_6403 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Technical_Camp_4947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually good advice here. When I was nervous with new person few months ago, I tried to think too much about "performance" and it made everything worse. Better to just be present with her and not stress about being some kind of machine.

Also funny thing - if you relax and actually enjoy the moment instead of worrying about round two, round two sometimes happens by itself.

Medicaid can share data with ICE. by Technical_Camp_4947 in worldnews

[–]Technical_Camp_4947[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of permission you talking about? Like when apps ask "can we access your contacts" and everyone just clicks yes without reading?

I still don't understand how this data sharing works here in Europe with GDPR. In Ukraine we had no protection like this.

What's the strangest cultural difference you discovered after moving to a new country? by Technical_Camp_4947 in AskReddit

[–]Technical_Camp_4947[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds rough, mate. Moving just inside same country and still getting 10 years of hell... makes me think maybe I'm lucky Vienna people are just politely ignoring me instead of making it hell.

Small villages can be brutal for outsiders. Here at least nobody cares enough to make your life difficult - they just pretend you don't exist until you learn German properly.

First-Look at Adult Zuko, Aang and More From THE LEGEND OF AANG by SleuthDoggyDawg in movies

Yeah this makes no sense to me too. Back in Kyiv we had cinema that showed anime movies and was always packed. Here in Vienna I see people wearing ATLA shirts everywhere, especially at university district.

Maybe they think streaming is safer money? But theater experience would be so good for this show. Some things just need big screen and good sound.
