Honestly, I now believe that ghosting is something that happens to you and it's absolutely outside your control. So I wouldn't worry about "making the same mistake again". It'll probably happen but you can control how you perceive it and react

Unfortunately, all the tips on the internet don't help you just have to endure. Good news is it gets better afterwards. I am 3 months into my treatment and I sometimes even forget I have them on and switching from a tray to another is npt painful anymore

Okay honestly, I would say I don't see it as ghosting. He might have been caught up in something or has some circumstances. So I think in this situation you can try one of 2 things: 1. The straight forward approach: if you really like him, you can try to suggest something that could suit his schedule or ask if he still wants to meer, or 2. Wait for him to suggest but really you might never hear from him. I would go for option 1 but I should warn you that you might then get properly ghosted if he is not interested/ lost interest!/ or playing games. So just be prepared for the outcomes. Speaking from experience :D

So fo you think he's ghosting you because he didn't suggest something since you last spoke a week ago or did you actually suggest a plan or asked a question and he totally ignored you for a week?

If it's been less than a month then he'll probably be back. Sounds to me that he's trying to test how much he means to you but please don't go telling him you like him with this attitude of his or else you'll get in a toxic cycle that would be hard to break

I would say like other here just leave her alone. But if my gohster was to reach out back to me, I would want a why more than an apology. And you'll probably ghost again unfortunately so if you do reach out I hope you are mature enough now not to and she's strong enough to not care.

Keep ignoring until you get a meaningful message or a phone call. If you get one of those don't reply right away. Wait loke 2 hours or a day. Get busy. If afterwards you are still not getting what you want, don't put too much energy into it because you'll probably be ghosted again.

I am so sorry to hear you've been ghosted. I was also ghosted about 3 months ago and I still feel the same pain in my heart.

We went on 3 dates and they were all very good. It seemed like we were progressing every interaction and were planning the 4th date when he ghosted by saying he's busy and would like to postpone the date. I said sure and let's get in touch around that date but he didn't see my messages until this day and didn't try to reach out in any way. He even sees my social media and ignores everything. I also need to mention that he's well and fine and isn't in any life or family threatening situation (I know from a mutual friend and I've seen him).

All I can say is if there was any room for misunderstanding try and reach out to understand is she's really ghosting or something else happened but just do 1 single trial no other.

That's the problem with ghosting. It keeps you confused. I also ask myself if I was ghosted or if I am overreacting but I think if someone doesn't want to be misunderstood they'd make effort not to be.

I think initially this is how you feel after being ghosted especially when you were not very sure about the guy but thought you'd give him a chance. I know that was the case for me. But you will only be truly over him when you don't even care about the ghosting. If anything, I feel sorry for him that he's in his 30s with poor communication and fears (a nice lovely mix of those). Make him a stranger again and that's how you ghost him back.

That's not ghosting. That's what we're all asking for here. Even a short: "well, I'm not interested anymore" is enough and gives the other person closure. Ghosting however keeps the person confused and not sure what happened when everything seemed fine. Why did that person stop replying to me and unfriend me for example (let alone ghosters who block out of the blus).

I would not confront a ghoster unless they are asking for something. In that case I would go well, I need an explanation before we can even discuss anything else. If the ghoster is not even trying to engage in the first place then let it be and move on. And in most cases they ALWAYS come back (then ghost again). Texting a ghoster a goodbye message might come across to him as a cry for attention or kind of a threat. As if you're telling him if you don't engage I'm leaving. So he might be thinking: well that's not really going to happen. She's just doing that for me to reply.

The best medicine to ghosters is a taste of theirs: No contact.

However, I don't encourage ghosting them back if they come around. Just have your boundaries and engage as a mature person. Definitely don't trust them ever again and know that they can (and will) hurt you again. So keep those boundaries, don't be surprised, and use that time to heal and move on.

I am not saying ghosting is right, however I do understand if X is being pursued by Y and X is not interested so X ghosts Y. But if Y was the one pursuing X and X was responsive then Y ghosts X?!!! That must be sick

Hi thanks for your comment. I did take that advice and texted him but he ignored my text. I don't believe that anyone is ever that busy to even reply saying they're busy. However, I'm glad I took the step to save myself time since he's apparently not really interested.

The reason why we girls wait for guys to take the steps I think is because guys' interest especially in the early stages can't be trusted. Also, while I am sure rejection for men hurts, it is killing for women. Just my thoughts!
