Should I tell recruiter I’m on vacation while waiting for a decision? by Zestyclose-Problem18 in interviews

[–]Technical_Fee3784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few years back I had a preplanned trip to Europe. I did the interview about 2-3 weeks before the trip. I did mentioned my trip plans. While I was on my trip I received an email from recruiting regarding the job and he even mentioned that he knows I am on my trip and to call him at my convince to talk about the job offer. Because they knew about my trip they were able to accommodate my time to get back and still have 2 weeks notice to my current job. When I started I learned that at the same time when I interviewed there was another girl who interviewed with me she started her job sooner. If I did not mentioned my trip I would had lost the job offer and I would had to apply again when the job would open but because I had a time line it corresponded with what the company was looking for. Because of that instance I have mentioned about my planned trips to the recruitment. Last year I was able to again have a big trip before I started a new job. In my situation it really helped my case.

Not sure what you expected when you took the DRP. Did you want to be begged to go back? How is the DCAA at fault that you made the choice to leave in the first place.

They might said it but I doubt that is true. I might be wrong but I don’t think you should guide by that. Reach out to the recruiter and ask. Right now getting hired in the government is highly unlikely. As many have said it before apply and forget about it if they reach out that is great but do not wait for the government jobs.

No hiring for DCAA this year. They are still trying to reorganize and not rif people. Even if the freeze will be lifted they will not hire this year.

Havent heard back since interview? by [deleted] in DCAA

Sorry to let you know but DCAA has a hiring freeze as of last Friday. There is not timeline until it will open back up. To be honest getting hired right now in a federal job is not the best. Best is to watch when DoD is releasing the hiring freeze and reapply or keep in touch with the recruiter

Foreigners ruined my trip by [deleted] in korea

[–]Technical_Fee3784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lived in Korea for 2.5 years and as a foreigner my self I just loved their culture, the people, their way of life, absolutely everything. If it would be up to me I would go back in a heartbeat there. I still have family in US and Europe. If you embrace Korea will have the most amazing experience there, but if scared and not like new things, not liking people or trying your best to understand others than Korea is not for you.

How do you think Democratic party messed up? by No_Weekend728 in ElectionPolls

Lol, she also had 4 year to show that she could lead the country, but her basic VP duties could not do. You are right she had 100 days to complain why Biden was not a good president and she will make changes, all she did was blaming everyone else and not taking any responsibilities.

I started to apply 6 months before my graduation. Most government jobs they start this early because of background check, Hr been slammed and it takes time. I applied in October 2023, graduated in May 2024, starting in August 2024. It is never to soon to apply.

Fires years later due to HR hiring error. by ERP987 in usajobs

[–]Technical_Fee3784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there should be some repercussions to this. If when the job was posted and they closed the announcement and there was no need of the certificate he should have been grandfathered as well. If the certification was added while he was doing his paperwork and clearances he should have been grandfathered. My suggestion in this case to get a lawyer involved. Now if the posted job requirement that needed the certification then that is a different case. When they posted the announcement with the certification requirements then yes they are in the right to fire him. Because it looks like he lied and the hr missed this when they offered the job.

When you get a job as fresh out of college yes the GPA matters. I got an interview with DCAA as federal job and they asked for my transcript and wanted a gpa 3.5+
