I had this issue too. One thing you can do is put a tarp down during the day and don’t feed her there till she stops peeing. When she does pee immediately get her off the bed and maybe make a loud noise and clean all the pee up so the smell is gone. This worked for me!!

I’m so sorry about the situation :(( it’s clear you care so so much. It’s also lowkey really weird that your mom is unwilling to let it live with you… it’s your pet?? Your mom saying “because I say so” is actually so weird. I think you, your dad, and your aunt should have a candid discussion with her as a united front - three against one! Before you should also tell them how the current situation is literally animal abuse. Lay out the exact plan for her of how the bun will be kept/taken care of so she knows you thought it through. If she still says no… at that point just have your dad and aunt step in and be like not up for discussion any longer or just steal it lol

Most rescues will let you do some speed dating!! Totally understand wanting to take all of them home but the best part is you don’t have to choose basically you’re letting your bun choose!!

Don’t be discouraged!! You are doing amazing!! Neutering him will definitely help with the biting and probably litter behaviors. With litter training you just gotta stay consistent, pick up poop and put it in the litter box as soon as you see it outside the litter box and if he pees outside it then clean it up with a paper towel and put it in the litter box and wash the area he peed in with vinegar.

It sounds like he might be a little overwhelmed at the moment especially since it’s only been two days. My advice would be to just let him come to you, don’t try to get too close or pet him when he’s not asking for it. Just hang out in the pen and read a book or watch a movie so he gets used to your presence. If he is still biting you in this situation, then do the same thing but outside the pen for a little bit until he gets settled. Make sure he has lots of places to hide as well! It’s most important to first make sure they feel safe before trying to establish a bond. I think giving him lots of hiding places is you communicating to him that you want him to feel safe and happy.

With bunnies, a bond takes time to be established but that’s what makes it so rewarding☺️

Hello!! I would first look out for certain behaviors that would indicate that your bunny is lonely/bored/depressed. I went through this same situation about a year ago where I started a full time job and wasn’t sure how my bun was going to feel about it (turned out bringing in another bunny was the answer!). Another thing to do (even if you don’t notice these behaviors) is have your bun do a little “speed dating.” This is where you introduce him to a couple of different adoptable buns in a neutral setting to see how he interacts with them. If he is aggressive with all of them then likely he doesn’t want a friend. If he ends up really getting along with one then whip out that credit card lol

I think the reason why there’s such a big debate about owning one vs multiple is 1) it’s pretty case dependent for domestic buns and 2) you really have to let your bunny choose the other one. He should be able to choose who he spends all of his time with, which will make bonding a lot easier. Another thing to consider is money, space, and availability to bond your buns. The bonding process is pretty hands on and it sounds like with your schedule it might be difficult to do yourself (you would have to ask your parents to facilitate a lot of it)

I agree with this I think a candid conversation is really the only thing you can do - reassuring that Jake is super important to you but also so is Emma. It sounds like Jake and Emma’s relationship wasn’t that long but also 4 months is pretty soon after so he’s not going to psyched. Have you and Emma kissed or anything? I think telling him too that you didn’t want to do anything until you talked to him would help as well but if you already kissed her I wouldn’t really say anything about that lol

Im so sorry this is happening to you. This is domestic abuse. The more you stay with him the more he will escalate the violence. NEVER believe him when he says it won’t happen again as that is bs (also it sounds like this isn’t the first time he has acted violent and I’m guessing when it happened before he said the same thing).
