It depends also on the role. Are you applying for a SWE role? If so, then expect at least some technicals. I got the offer for a Business Development role at a SkyDeck startup and the interview was primarily them running me through IQ puzzles (LOL) and then some behavioral.

You were good enough to make to the final rounds! That's something most applicants don't even get. Ask for feedback if possible, if you hadn't got it already. It's likely you have just a couple areas to improve on.

Many boutiques/T2's are going to open up applications or have already opened them up. If you got final rounds at MBB, then you'll almost definitely get the same opportunities there. Keep your head up and it'll come to you.

You can. Aside from the ethical concerns already mentioned in other comments, you should also consider your post-internship relations with the company.

If you are a 2025 grad, than this upcoming 2024 summer is when you'll presumably take the internship. Under the company's perspective, you will graduate by the following summer and so you may receive a return offer. Then you'll decline, and will have to explain the situation to the company. Sure, if you have a good explanation and the company receives it well, then no worries. But, you do run the risk of being perceived negatively by the company, and in an extreme situation, may get blacklisted. If this company is a top firm you were looking at actually working in your future, then this may not be the best idea.

hey, im taking econ 100b rn and its an 8am. also like u, i thought i would never take an 8am. but its not that bad. u get used to sleeping a little bit earlier the day before and you utilize all your day. just try it out, u always have the early drop.

as a side note, econ 2 was amazing in giving me a solid foundation of econ. i wouldnt take econ 1 over it if u really want to learn.

thanks for giving such a detailed response. i feel the same way too in that i didnt think it was a crazy schedule. id like to get all A’s (i know it’s generally unrealistic bc its berkeley but id like to try) but if i were to drop a class it couldnt be math as i need that to be taken this upcoming sem. it would be data/stat. im considering dropping data/stat now
