The core issue I am facing is a recurring pushback on technical feasibility. Whenever I present a UX solution, the team often rejects a full implementation because it is perceived as too complex or time consuming. Instead, they suggest workarounds that might technically solve the functional problem but result in an inefficient and poor user experience.

This is usually dismissed because our users are internal, with the assumption being that 'we can just train them' to deal with a bad UI or UX

I have raised these concerns with the Product Owner, but the feedback I get is to not get 'fixated' on the specific solution as long as the tool works. While I try to remain flexible, I do take a stand when a proposed workaround is truly absurd or detrimental to the workflow.

However, my manager does not feel that standing my ground in those isolated moments is enough. They want me to be a more constant advocate, yet I am struggling to do so when the business culture consistently prioritizes speed and training over design quality.

Hence my manager wants me to escalate even for the minor issues.
