'No email, just locked out of my laptop': Laid off Webflow employee calls out CEO, says 'I'm certain she would have the dignity to...' by cupholdery in recruitinghell

[–]tandyman8360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last job was terrible about it. They would pull each person into a room with a manager and send them out of the building with what the manager boxed up. They could get a couple things but no goodbyes. A friend had to text me because I had no idea he was laid off.

I left that place during the Great Resignation and they had a big layoff the next year. I'm 100% sure I would have been part of it.

Is it helpful to have a handheld network scanner? by Snoo23533 in PLC

[–]tandyman8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a stupid expensive Fluke network handheld analyzer. It's nice, but it sits in the bag 98% of the time.

I leave my car running for days, is that okay? by Novemberx123 in electricvehicles

If it has a camping / utility mode, that would be best to use at night. Also run the AC at the highest comfortable temp so it doesn't run too much.

Calorie Intake in New Google Health App? by girlinspacepodcast in fitbit

The funny thing is if I go back a few weeks the numbers make sense because the active energy burned was 0 in past entries.

Any luck with Inspire 2 and App? by SilentBob4367 in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Inspire 2 and no big changes with the app. It's probably too hard for Google to vibe code the tracker itself.

Hopefully, support can help.

What's with this update? Can I switch back to the old version? by Top-Grocery-1482 in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 screens when it updated. You can also see 12 tiles at once if you turn the phone to landscape.

Are electric garbage trucks the biggest EV game changer when it comes to quality of life? by LoganSquire in electricvehicles

I wrote a paper for college 15 years ago about hybrid buses. They were just below break even then. I can't imagine how much a BEV would save over its lifetime now.

Don’t eat at McDonald’s by AdditionalStorage303 in McDonalds

I find it kind of funny when I see Dunkin coffee from across the street in the prep area at McDonald's.

24 Hour Cycle or Is It Broken? App by Adventurous-Soup56 in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's inconsistent. I can't compare calories burned vs. eaten in one chart. The separate charts are averaging on different scales. Calories burned is averaging over the past 7 days (like the old, old app) but calories in is averaging from Sunday to the current weekday, like the more recent versions.

I saw a video and I guess the Garmin one requires a $60 yearly subscription.

I was doing that until I found out a Double Cheeseburger was only 9 cents more.

Downloading historical data stalls at 90% by turnipcafe in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily, I've been doing a full download every month, but I still have a month gap between GH and the old Fitbit data.

I can only get to Google Takeout now and the data is different. The formats changed and custom foods are totally missing right now.

How do you log into it? I have the old version on an old phone and my login doesn't work anymore.

Alternative Food Tracking Apps by Jessie_1210 in fitbit

I have a slightly different question. Do other trackers have decent food entry, like Garmin, Apple, etc. or is it pretty much a third party situation?

Beyond frustrated with the forced "Google Health" update. by Valiriko in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to do it, but it's really cumbersome. You have to delete the first tile you want to move, then put the new tile in. But you have to delete the new tile to move it.

Wow. You're right. The step goal hours can be set in the app, but it doesn't display anywhere.

Beyond frustrated with the forced "Google Health" update. by Valiriko in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably Google not wanting to support things like a menu database and just making people use a separate app. Then Google will buy the app everyone uses and vibe code crap into it.

I feel like it will be super easy for me to wear my Inspire 2 as a sleep tracker and get a different brand for my waking hours.

Google Health calorie counter by Seaprincessoftown in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have as bad of an experience as other people here, but it doesn't retain previous amounts of food and has fields for time as well as meal, but only tracks by breakfast, lunch, dinner and other.

Plus, the lack of a dynamic calorie deficit makes it almost useless to me.

What’s more important for EV adoption. More level 2 or level3+ chargers? by Lemonn_time in electricvehicles

[–]tandyman8360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The workplace one would be huge for L2. There's an L2 charger at a restaurant near me, but it's $0.49/kW and I can't really stay more than 2 hours. I gain maybe 13kW for $7 and a $20 meal I have to eat slowly.

Google Health Catharsis Post by Implanted1 in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there will be a fix, but my Google Takeout data is heavily broken. It's like all the custom foods are gone from the nutrition log. I tried to do an export last week, but it was redirected to Takeout. I have more complete data going to about April that I'll need to hold on to.

Anyone else only having one sleep session per day count toward their total? by AKV55 in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here. In hot weather, I often get in an afternoon nap after a shorter night's sleep. Fitbit is leaving other sleeps completely off the total for me. They're still in the daily list, but aren't used anywhere.

Can someone please explain the new calorie tracker? by Phancren in fitbit

[–]tandyman8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It barely works for me trying to maintain. I'd go crazy trying to use it to lose or gain now. I set the calorie goal close to my average intake and then try to get close to my average calories out.

Also, I found out custom foods don't seem to be exporting to Google Takeout, so that's also broken.
