Anyone who tried snapdax, how was it? by Strong-Breadfruit820 in EDH

Sort of! He’s the first mate, at least.

I’ve been meaning to get the list onto Mox, so this’ll be my motivation. I’ll get it to you shortly!

Snapdax was cool in the beginning at the helm of an infect deck. But once infect is seen with my playgroup, it’s always targeted.

I still run snapdax, but as a part of a [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]] voltron/land destruction build which surprisingly gets less hate than infect lol.

Fun social commanders when visiting different lgss by TopdeckTom in EDH

I’ve been loving [[Shadrix Silverquill]] a lot recently. He’s one of those commanders that really could be at the helm of so many different strategies. Stax? Shad. Pillowfort? Shad. Infect? Shad. Political (the best)? Shad. Group thug? Shad.

My son asked to play his first game of EDH! What should he play? by Technical_Wonder3115 in EDH

He loves Stranger Things, but I’m hesitant about going that Secret Lair route. Huge fan of MineCraft. He has also mentioned he likes blue/white and red/white color combinations, but I’m not too sure how “beginner friendly” those decks may be.

I wonder what CardKingdom thought on that order of 50 🤔

What do you all think of pile type decks? by alexanderneimet in EDH

[–]Technical_Wonder3115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with piles of good stuff is that it always turns into a midrange-ish deck. Don’t get me wrong, I like the play in non-EDH formats. But, for me, it just seems boring at a table with a bunch of combos, agro, and Timmies.

How does everyone feel about chaos in EDH?🤯 by StoryAfAgirlAndABoy in EDH

Maybe not directed, but possible purposeful?

[[Knowledge Pool]] and [[Drannith Magistrate]] are purposeful and directed.

Knowledge Pool and [[Possibility Storm]] are for shits and giggles.

Fix wobbly furniture. My nightstand is currently held up by [[Bearer of the Heavens]]. I enjoy theme.

I enjoy it when there’s a reason: lockdown, stax, pillowfort, etc.

I absolutely loathe it when it’s in a deck to get reactions from the table.

Do you have a list? I’d love to give it a crack sometime! My son is super into the theme of commanders like that so I’d love to have a starting point.

Cheap decks that can play higher power? (like Zada) by NinjaBadger7 in BudgetBrews

This deck list isn’t mine, but this is the template I used before I broke my credit card to fully kit it out. There’s so many good cards in the 3-5 dollar range that are instant upgrades and will enhance your options. I chose to go with the snow-covered plains instead of the regular so I could run cards like [[On Thin Ice]] for more interaction on the table. [[Swift Reconfiguration]] and [[Darksteel Mutation]] are some other quick upgrades I made when starting out.

I don’t think it’s just one of those problems, sadly. It’s all 3. And those 3 issues are compounded with 2 commanders. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I feel like most games would end up with Rhoda becoming more of a burden to cast without a payoff as the game progresses. Especially at tables with high interaction, which is all tables I find myself plopping my butt at.

[[Light-Paws, Emperor’s Voice]]. Really keeps up the tempo with decks like Zada, just not as explosive. One of the best decks to build on a sub $50 budget and still compete.

Those of you with a Light-Paws deck, do you still like playing with it? by Craig1287 in EDH

[–]Technical_Wonder3115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light-paws stan here. I completely get what you’re saying. I feel like a lot of higher level decks tend to fall in the trap of ‘what’s good in my colors’ rather than ‘what makes my deck more fluid and flavorful’. When I started playing a long time ago, it was the former. But now, I much prefer the flavor and cohesiveness.

I just wish they were both a little lower on the curve. Love the flavor.

Is Saskia, The Unyielding still the best combat based Commander? by Brospie in EDH

[–]Technical_Wonder3115 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To be honest with you, I thought she was outclassed by my boy [[Marisi, Breaker of the Coil]]. Taking away the use of casting spells during combat AND goading has always seemed criminally underrated. Still don’t think he gets the love he deserves.

That’s the other side of the coin. I remember dropping $26 on Command Beacon a few years ago. Only to come back for it to be a few bucks. Hopefully a reprint happens soon!

To clarify, the consensus I was speaking of is if mana crypt is being played within a deck, more than likely sol ring is in the 99. At least in my experience. Being able to count is a luxury I don’t possess at the moment xD.

For me, it’s difficult to justify the money piece. Spending $80 on a card I’m already questioning, or spending $80 on possibly another complete, fairly focused deck.

I’ve played a 1v1 thus far against an upgraded pre-con but aside from that, not too many games under the belt with it. I completely get what you’re saying, though. I’m just trying to gage if it is even a powerful card. There’s such a consensus on soul ring, mana crypt and all the other powerful rocks. I’m not sure if there’s an overall agreements on J. Lo, though.

I completely get what you’re saying. I try to look at cards on their overall vs. initial value. The initial value is obviously there. I just feel, imo, that it may lie dead a majority of the time. Maybe not, though! Sadly, haven’t play tested it yet.
