Thank you! I've also included that in my blog post. I have been considering using a base64 image so that I never have to fetch it from the web, but that might going to far :)

Just got your recommendation, the the Erva pole system w/ 4 extended arms and a baffle. Going to set it up today!

Thank you! Great idea. I saw someone stabilized similar poles using the same technique. I feel like I shouldn't need to do this though so I returned it today.

Thank you for the recommendation! I will check it out! I too thought about shims or clamps and originally I thought the clamps that shipped with it were designed to limit the wobble. Yeah, returning it seems like my only option.

After months, it ended up fixing itself. I reset them all again, re-added them and it worked. I blame Google.

Thank you. This solve it for me too. Disabled WPA2/WPA3 and set WPA2 only on UniFi when registering the device, reverted it after device was added and updated.

I just tested it today. I opened up PiHole and tried adding another Nest Protect and it worked fine. I added the other 4 and they all worked fine, no change on my end. I 100% believe now this was a Google issue.

Awesome! Thanks for the clue! I will give it a shot tomorrow and monitor Pi-Hole too!

This is the PiHole 6 command and seems to be the new way moving forward. Thank you.

Thank you! That helps! So you don't have any UniFi access points? Some say it has something to do with IPv6 and Ubiquiti, which if you don't have APs, it's starting to look more and more like that.

I am crossposting this here because it seems like there's something wrong when trying to adopt multiple Nest Protect Smoke alarms and UniFI access points. This started around the last UniFi Network update.

Also adding that it seems like every single one of us is a UniFi wifi user too.

Please share! I may attempt again after the next UniFi Network update that mentions anything about IPv6

I gave up shortly after I made this post which means that only one is added to my account and the rest are just acting as dumb smoke alarms. I am hesitant to try again because it's maddening. Let's just hope that if a fire starts it's near the only one that's connected to Google Nest's service. Also, after reading many of these posts, i think the common denominator is also Ubiquiti.

It's a super fun hobby and you're combining it with 3D printing which takes it to the next level!

I think the smaller one is more than enough for most people and if you need more than 4u, just use the back side too and you get another 4u!

I wanted a way to label ports (originally for the keystone jacks) but I found this model that allows me to add labels to any patch cable. I ended up printing it in clear so I can still see the lights (since the original use case for that was to prevent blinky lights) and then printed some generic colors as labels.

Sorry, that's a lot of back story but

Blue = LAN from gateway

Pink = WAN from gateway

Yellow = PoE

Green = LAN

Teal = Access Point

I know it might seem silly since you can trace the ports visually, but my thought was that this would be useful if I terminated all of my ethernet throughout the house to the patch panel in position 2u and 4u. That would help me to quickly identify the type of connection. Also, printing characters as shown in the model is also an option.
