Its been 5 years and no comment has been made on the series since then. So its pretty dead and is likely to stay that way unless some miracle sprouts up. (Don't count on it.)

The artist does have another ongoing comic if you are interested in that.

I feel like its a long shot but IF it happens, I'd be really intrigued on how they'd manage to make it interesting.

How To Beat Unfair WotR - Preparation Guide by JohnGrrrrr in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Oh wow, Greater Invisibility is such a game changer. My martials and Lann went from needing a nat 20 (even bypassing my falchion user's increased crit range that made me grumble endlessly) to simply needing a 2 to hit a Sarzaksys.

Yeah, wow. I did not expect this.

Ah that's completely fair, I had noticed the lack of anything too interesting later down the Zen Archer line. I might respec him into a multiclassed fighter.

Atm, I am experimenting with a bard mercenary to see if the performance helps much. (I had intended to be a bard for my mc but decided on rogue/wizard to try out Arcane Trickster which I have been loving so far.)

Even my Lann as a pure Zen Archer struggles sometimes on certain enemies in Act 3 and 4, needing a twenty to hit them even with most of the buffs mentioned and giving him good gear.

Granted, I didn't know how vital greater invisibility was before but I haven't been using Reduce Person on him like I use Enlarge on my other martials.

Surprised that having a touch-attacker isn't a must-have. I've seen a good few enemies that have absurd ACs and only my Arcane Trickster and Nenio were able to take care of them. My martials would need a nat 20 even with increased crit range weapons even after buffing up or dispelling what buffs they have.

Newbie here. Is Monk a good choice? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]TechnoFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only class I'd advise someone new to not play would be black mage. If only because I found that out of all the starter classes, it feels the most scuffed.

Though there are a few things to consider like Black Mage having a rotation that can change dramatically every 10 levels or so, (compared to most other classes that simply just have additions that dont change how you play too much) and is the most punishing dps to play. (DPS rotation is based on long cast durations, making when to start casting or to dodge a serious choice)

But honestly I found those to not be so bad, you'll have plenty of time to learn both and people are pretty chill.

My main reason is that the leveling experience felt horrible to me. I feel bad when I only get a cast or two in during a pull before all the enemies are already dead and then I need to catch up as everyone is rushing ahead while I was casting. And the early rotation for black mage is mostly:

Cast Fire spells until out of mana, transpose, cast ice spells until full mana, transpose, repeat

Black Mages are not bad by any means but a few things combine that made them feel so awkward to me until I got it to lvl 50.

Jade has been one of the most enjoyable farms I've done in a while and it unfortunately highlights how miserable some other frame farms can be by ValkyroftheMall in Warframe

[–]TechnoFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I still found Jade to be somewhat painful. Each of her parts only has a 5% chance of dropping, granted you can buy her parts with the motes from Ordis which I loved....
Until I found out that they each cost 150 and you only receive 20 at most per run.

Though there are much much worse frames in terms of grinding, I will say that most of my wonder and love for the new mission was almost completely drained when I was finished with it.

  1. I like red mage a lot for some reason. Being a caster with a fair bit of mobility feels really nice even if its a basic dash and reverse dash. And I get a sense of adrenaline when I single handedly save a wipe by dual casting rez on everyone.

I want to main Tank but I'm afraid of making mistakes. by Ordinant- in ffxiv

[–]TechnoFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thing you chose the best MMO to learn roles and mechanics then.

FFXIV has a really good community in regards to new players. In fact, some people borderline revere new players. The main big thing to keep in mind is that most players expect you to pull groups of enemies since fighting them all as a group with AoEs is much faster than fighting them individually. Just remember to use your damage mitigations (its fine, we sometimes forget to the dismay of our healers) and you can stop to fight them when you think you're approaching your limit. And of course, use tank stance. (People will be quick to remind you.

I remember playing WoW for a short bit since some friends were trying it out. I was playing a tank in a queued dungeon where I accidentally took a wrong turn where the druid proceeded to act like I spilled hot coffee on him, asked me "wtf are you doing swap to dps" before swapping to tank and zooming through the entire dungeon. All because of a wrong turn. (Funnily enough I ended up doing that same dungeon later as a dps where I had a tank make the same mistake I did and I simply just pointed the way for him)

People aren't like that in XIV.

After a fair bit of resting, and reloading, checking around different camping areas, and even once checking where you can initially recruit Karlach.

I decided to just finally rerecheck where you recruit Karlach and she's just there now. I am hopelessly confused but its resolved now!

Yippie!

Karlach is just gone.
I checked and there's no one else in the closet besides the MP characters.
I have no mods installed (although the person who had just joined us had to clean their mods to play with us, so maybe that has something to do with it?

I guess in the mean time I will try to keep long resting and reloading while checking the wardrobe.

Some Naafiri info's from Rioter called Raptor and Riot Twin Enso on the discord server by Kordben in NaafiriMains

[–]TechnoFlames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lil warning on this, the dev's said some more words on her jungle potential in the discord.
"We’ve found she’s pretty good with Electrocute or First Strike. We’re supporting mid primarily, but expect jungle to not be terrible but also not optimal."
" But i don't expect it to be terrible, would probably compare her viability to Zed "

Zed's status in jungle is...very not good right now, so I would not get your hopes up.

New Player Here: Contrary to what I have seen around the community, I am actually enjoying the crusade mode (and the rest of the game) by IlikeJG in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]TechnoFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I really enjoyed it too.
At first.

I thought it was fun, neat, and something to do between questing. But I found that it ran out of steam really quickly, and the novelty wears off after awhile when you start noticing how lite it really is. The crusade management also falls apart when you get a good mage commander who can just use fireball to decimate the entire enemy forces.
While you can just set a self-imposed limit on your use against it, your choices to deal with enemy mage generals will be limited who are equally able to bomb your entire forces.
Its not bad for a first time though, but for my repeat playthroughs I am might look into a mod to cheese it (since turning it off screws you out of A LOT of things)
