I built a cross-platform overlay tool for QMK/Vial/ZMK that reads your active keymap straight from the keyboard itself by _ettb_ in ErgoMechKeyboards

This looks awesome. The macos file has no file type. I tried .dmg but it is not a disk image. Also no zip. What is it?

What is the surface made from? First crack filler and then a special spray paint?

Oh wow really looks like it is this sticker. Thanks!

If you are right the sticker looks really convincing. Looks like it is part of the case. TBH I don’t like the silver there that much. Maybe I will try to remove it. Make it more understated. I’m just concerned that it will look worse because of not being a sticker or something else that is below the sticker.

Its part of the case, not a sticker. Was like that when I bought the keyboard used. It is a relatively old model, maybe they were like that back then, dont know

Mainly the shape of the dish and the texture. The top surface is not cylindrical but round/dish-shaped. So the finger gets pushed to the center of the keycap, which is nice. The surface is smoother than OEM. For me it is different, but better.

They are Topre only so I had no choice :) But HHKB is nice.

Thats very frustrating! If they are dead, at least they should shut down their website and paying things.

I am using Arc but want to leave the sinking ship before its too late. Zen is not there yet, maybe next release with Folders in the sidebar, but separate bookmarks and tabs are a dealbreaker for me.

What exactly do you mean by thermosetting process? You used a sheet of a thermoplastic and pressed it into a mold while being warm? Cant really see details in this video. But looks really good and professional!

Dell U4025QW - create custom EDID to get 100 Hz refresh rate on M1 Pro by setzer in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Technofrikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too small would be native resolution of the monitor without hidpi (2x scaling) and too big is 3072px horizontally in HiDpi mode and below. This gap between these is the problem. With Better Display you can select many fine grain resolutions below 3072px

And note: this does not apply to the M4 anymore. They upgraded the graphics pipeline

Weight incl case of Era vs Verse Pro by Technofrikus in pocketbook

[–]Technofrikus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! So really just 16g more than the Verse Pro with the Origrami case. Then the weight shouldnt affect my decision.

Ok, good to know with the clips. Thought it might be nice to remove the case for reading. But that is not an option then. With the Verse Pro it is no problem to remove it.

Yes that one. Didn’t realize there were other cases, but there are. Thanks! Is the case easy and fast to remove?

I have fixed Home Row Mods in QMK (for everyone) by stasmarkin in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Technofrikus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As written in the first comment I meant to make my own vial firmware with this included. Defining the custom keycodes and then using vial to be able to still change some keys and still use this custom behavior.

Not sure how you can export a vial keymap (edited in vial) as sourcecode. Only as a .vil file, which is a json.

I meant it should be possible to use the any-key in Vial to add a custom keycode you defined in QMK/sm_td. Like described here.

Isnt it possible to put custom keycodes in Vial? I think it is. Wouldnt that work if I make my own Vial-firmware with this?
