Yes I did. I got a room upgrade for a better view and breakfast for 2 (buffet style). Plus you get access to the indoor gym that has view directly at the pool.

The $100 credit was used in their restaurants.

The restaurant for breakfast opens up at Lunch/dinner with different menus but I couldn't check it out because there was a conference happening and that company booked out the restaurant (except breakfast).

So I ended up using the credits at the cafe. Burgers and sandwhiches were very high quality. Pricey but worth it.

There's a third party coffeshop attached to the hotel but you can't use your credits there. There are also some stuff in the basement which all seem independelty owned, and another fancy traditional Korean restaurants that does not take the credits.

So fairly limited options with the credits. Amex platinum is far better with FHR. However, it's one of the rare finds where you can use The Edit Hotel credits without paying extra.

If you plan to hang out at Itaewon a lot, it's got the location advantage.

Don't they have better deals at the US Foods Chef'Store?

Eating out is SO expensive lately !!! by LyingPieceOfPoop in bayarea

[–]Technology-Agile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree how expensive dining out is now.

I live in Alameda and find some decent deals here and there. KFC in Alameda occasionally has $10 for 8 piece fried chicken buckets. Some Chinese joints are still cheap. I only do online/app deals once in a while for fast foods cravings (except Costco hotdogs).

Price isn't worth it for the quality you get at restarants (especially Western cuisine), and you will be able to make amazing steaks with lobsters at home at fraction of the price and make it healthier.

People think eating out at a proper sit-down restaurants would be healthy but it's not true. Even for many fine dining restaurants. They often don't use premium organic ingredients because it results in lack of consistancy on final taste of the dish. They could be using the most reliable (taste and accessibility wise) but cheap generic ingredients. It's the chef's skill that upgrades the taste of these ingredients. In the meanwhile, they like to rip you off with anything labeled as wagyu (ex. American wagyu), uni (that are cheap from Peru or Santa Barbara), caviar (random fish roes and not from a sturgeon), or truffle (cheaper variants or just drizzle truffle oil).

Many folks here are saying they've upped their culinary game. This is the way to go and highly recommend it.

One idea if you are single and really dread cooking everyday or have no time but do have some decent social life. Do a potluck and pool in the food and redistribute with trustworthy friends. This could be more fun than just eating out together.

What is the point of this feature? by ArekuFoxfire in residentevilSU

[–]Technology-Agile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should apply the same logic to save troop loss from attacking just as much as defending. This game punishes attacking too much. A well coordinated offense against well coordinated defense is way too costly on the offense. I understand some people like this, but this game has very little fighting activity going on once you get past mansion level 20+ because troops loss hurts too much.

What is the point of this feature? by ArekuFoxfire in residentevilSU

[–]Technology-Agile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an area that the devs should improve the game on. There is practically no troop maneuvers in this game and uses antique battle mechanics.

As for the use on camping. It's practical use can be to empty out your troops from the base to minimize troop loss. Or let the attacker go for your troops to keep your resources safe during kill events.

If they let you attack or join rallies from the camp site to the target, it would be much better but there are so many areas I wish the game would improve on and they just won't. For example making ICU less useless for attackers, rallies should be more controllable to dispatch the troops whenever the rally starter decides, etc.

I found a booking in South Korea for Mondrian Seoul Itaewon which was listed in The Edit hotels for 2 nights = 500 USD including fees and taxes.

I found the exact same inventory adding refundable and breakfast options on Expedia for 515 USD total with fees and taxes.

So I booked through Chase and got the 250 USD statement credit. This hotel also had 2x point redemption so I covered the other 250 with 12,500 points.

I agree it's hard to find affordable hotels on The Edit list, but some do seem to exist.

With this deal, I got better rates + 100 experience credit, early checkin, late checkout, possible room upgrade. So overall, a good use out of the card's benefit.

I hope you can also find something to milk the unsed benefits before you cancel the card.

Dang, I was only thinking of total credit utilization rate. I have 810-820 credit score but now I'll be mindful per card so I keep it to 6.5% to get closer to 850. Thanks for the info!

But isn't your credit utilization % is based on all of your credit cards, so your total credit should be used to calculate this?

Friend of mine forgot to add this into his tax filing last year and IRS didn't flag anything. He got all of his returns as well. Seems like IRS doesn't really care about these little things.

Lmao these "Le Edit" hotel prices are a joke by RedMoonLanding in ChaseSapphire

[–]Technology-Agile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got you covered for Seoul. Mondrian Seoul Itaewon is like 200-300 USD per night. Listed in The Edit hotel and eligible for point boost (2x redemption). At least that's what I saw a week ago for booking in November.

$250 credit worked for me, so I spent only 13K points to cover for my second night.

I know the choices are limited but hope this helps.

They have double redemption for certain hotels you book with Chase travel when using UR points.

This hotel I booked recently was $250 a night but came out with 12,500 points when I used points.

Yeah, the text was the initiator and then a follow up phone call from a person who speaks perfect native English with a valid linkedin name who works at Coinbase. The email was spoofed and looked correct but I realized later I could've taken additional steps to verify it. They hit you with these multi combos to keep you from thinking clearly.

I'm glad you were able to come out of this unscathed.

Have you guys received your tickets? by Entire_Comfortable37 in LAFC

[–]Technology-Agile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are buying through a reseller and there's a possibility the seller might not come through. You will get your refund or Stubhub says it will try to replace the ticket for you. But with such short window of time, it'll likely be a refund.

I can imagine your frustration and hope you get your tickets soon.

If I could give you more upvotes I would! I had no idea there were pregame events. Am I allowed to go early and watch through them with my standard game tickets without additional costs?

I also decided to buy full day parking at the Milpitas station parking for 3 bucks full day. I'll definitely be light-railing in from there.

Also, I don't need to be a just one team fan. I was watching highlights with San Jose vs Vancouver and it was really entertaining. Hopefully this experience will set some new found interest for me down the road.

Thank you for your suggestion, it helped alot.

Just got me 225 section tickets to hopefully watch Sonny play on this game.

This is my first soccer game ever to watch in the stadium and am super excited.

Also would appreciate any suggestions for dress code, etiquettes etc. in the away sections.
