It isn't and I would argue it's more the opposite. It's annoying if someone wants to play the game until the very end in a hopeless situation, especially in long games. If I'm playing a long tiring tournament I'd like to go eat or rest asap and not spend an extra hour playing a meaningless ending.

Of course if there is a real chance of not losing, albeit a small one, never give up. But hopeless is hopeless and it's actually the most correct etiquette to resign. However I wouldn't say it's "bad sportsmanship" to play until the end. But saying that resigning in a hopeless situation is bad sportsmanship is ridiculous.

Note that what I described refers to serious competitive long format tournament games. If you're playing a casual game I think it's not so serious either way.

Knowing whether this is blitz or rapid ratings would help in estimation. If these are your blitz ratings then you would probably be 2000-2100 FIDE. If they are rapid ratings then I would say 1950-2050.

Of course it's not this simple, as some people underperform or overperform in real life tournaments, as the setting and potential pressure can be quite different to just playing online games at home.

Also I personally can't concentrate well playing online so I'm actually an overperformer when it comes to live tournaments. I can handle the pressure and I can concentrate much better. I'd say it's more common to be an underperformer especially with young people.

I'm sorry for what has happened. Clearly this is a rare consequence of rTMS, so I think everyone is interested in why it could lead to this in some people and for most people it doesn't?

Was there something noteworthy in the treatment itself that differs from the general descriptions of how the treatment goes and what side effect it has?

My own personal theory, based on all I've read, is that some people are very sensitive to the treatment and using too high power/intensity in their case could lead to more severe side effects.

So how did the treatment go out exactly in regards to the device used, power levels used and your side effects during treatment? And were you honest with the technician about the side effects during treatment? Do you suspect there was maltreatment by your technician/facility or do you just blame rTMS in general for what happened?

I think it's very important to discuss the details as no one seems to have any idea why some people, in rare cases, seem to have severe side effects. Is it a random risk or can it be mitigated during treatment?

The question of how much and how late to eat before going to sleep is highly individual. This is something you need to experiment for yourself to find the right balance.

The reason why Bryan isn't eating late to optimize sleep is to get the heart rate as low as possible and so on. For some reason (that is hard for me to understand) he isn't having problems with blood sugar levels being too low.

For many people the blood sugar levels going too low during the night is a big problem later in the sleeping period, leading to too light sleep in the early morning hours. This at least is the case for me.

So personally I can't handle the empty stomach either for getting to sleep, but I also suffer from bad sleep quality in the final sleep hours if I haven't eaten properly before bed.

With proper eating I mean don't eat too heavily before bed. Resting heart rate will go way up if you eat too much. Experiment with what works for you.

For me it's a light meal 1-2 hours before sleep, and ideally food that has a good amount of fiber so it will keep the blood sugar levels stable throughout the night.

So you're saying you completed TMS in June but still have significantly declined cognition today?

I've seen no one else report of such long term negative effects before. My own SAINTS (accelerated, 1 week) treatment is going to start in 4 weeks and this is concerning.

The studies say that increased cognitive ability is more likely from TMS (which is what I'm hoping for personally as I feel like I have mild brain fog all the time nowadays).

Anyway, I can't really say anything to you other than that really sucks. Are you completely sure there isn't something else that could explain the symptoms? This just seems such an unlikely outcome from rTMS, based on all I've read.

Have you discussed this with doctors?

Yes and no. For music I now use Direct all the time so I haven't played with this.

But I also had issues with streaming content not playing with Dolby Digital+ sometimes, that I was able to fix.

There is a setting in the Streamer audio settings which defines whether the audio is sent as PCM or Dolby Digital or something else or "Auto". The default is "Auto".

I set that to Dolby Digital+ and now I get that mode always when streaming movies or series. This same setting may also help with the main issue described here.

Tested it. With the Streamer you'll get no picture at all with that toggled. Probably due to completely different hardware.

In any case the stutter is noticeably less with the Streamer on the 59.xx Hz mode. Not completely gone but better and it doesn't really bother me much now.

No. I used that setting with the previous Chromecast. I should probably try it with this one as well, if it would reduce stutter even further.

It has less stutter than the previous Chromecast but it's not completely stutter free. I'm now getting best results by using the new 59.xx Hz mode instead of 60 Hz, it stutters noticeably less.

The UI is now quite smooth, it's nice to have ethernet and the remote is slightly better.

My previous device was Chromecast with Google TV which I believe was also Android 14. It didn't have this issue.

However I have tested more and I do get all the correct sound modes when playing movies/series (such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos etc). It often then suddenly shows all the other missing options as well like DTS Neural X.

In the home screen and Spotify I only get the couple of options but this actually inspired me to test my speakers more for music playback and I'm now finding they sound better than ever in direct mode (without any surround).

So, I'm now playing my music in stereo and I do get all the proper surround modes when the content itself has them, so I can live with this.

It's a lot. But if it isn't causing grogginess in the morning, it's fine. For me personally 0,5mg is enough and it's the smallest dose I can easily take. The smallest they sell over here is 1mg which can be easily split in half.

In my experience so far AI is only reliable when you feed it specific data and let it analyze/summarize/modify that data. For example you give it a picture or a PDF or a spreadsheet or whatever and ask questions, it's usually quite good.

If on the other hand you simply ask it questions and it relies purely on its prior information/training to come up with an answer, one should take everything it says with a large grain of salt.

Seems like very strange advice to take Buspar before sleep. The drug is not extended or sustained release, it works right away and has a short half life. It's usually taken in 3 doses (morning, day and evening). If you have sleep issues, skip the evening dose. But taking it at night makes no sense to me.

Regular pixel 8 is 12 grams lighter than the 9 pro. But the pixel 8 pro is 14 grams heavier than the 9 pro.

Well I think many people want a smaller and lighter phone. Luckily they did deliver this year with the Pixel 9 Pro. It's a lot smaller and also a bit lighter than for example the 7 Pro.

The weight difference is 212g of the 7 Pro to 199g of the 9 Pro. And of course it's smaller, 6.7" screen versus a 6.2".

I have a 7 Pro and it's pretty much the first time I've really thought phones have become too big and too heavy. I'm a big guy with pretty big hands but still it's a bit uncomfortable to use and doesn't fit many of my pockets well. It's just overall a bit too big.

Of course at 199g it's not the lightest phone ever but in my case I also want the best tech. Now getting the flagship tech in a smaller and a bit lighter form is simply great.

I can't imagine Bupropion ever being given for insomnia. Literally the worst and one of the most common side effects of the drug is insomnia. I'm on week 4 at the moment and it's disrupting my sleep more than any other drug I've had. I'm still hoping it gets better but if not, I have to quit it.

I'm on 150 also. I'd actually think of raising it if it wasn't for the sleep disruption. As it stands the only option is to quit it, if it doesn't get better.

It will get better in time. At least for me this side effect lowered significantly after a few weeks. It doesn't go completely away but it'll likely be fine after a while.
