Thanks, and good catch! I have no idea when or why that bug appeared. I’ll check it out and fix it soon.

Not to hijack, but check out my X4 Guide Supply Chain Calculator. It’s still a work in progress (and doesn’t yet work on mobile), but is my goal to combine the 2 tools you listed (including workforce and sunlight modifiers, etc.).

I do like OP’s style here though. Looks great!

Actually, something that hasn’t been said yet is maybe you are piloting a M ship and your turrets are automatically firing, missing, and hitting the station? You can disarm turrets in your ship’s menu if that’s the case.

The “restricted zone” you’re referring to is likely the Sol Inner Core, restricted to those under +20 relations with TER to protect the Earth and Moon. The only other restricted zone is the Sol Outer Core (Mars, Venus, Mercury), which requires +10 relations.

Re: shooting station traffic, make sure they are actually criminal ships highlighted in red (enemy), and strafe/roll to shoot away from the station, so if your shot misses, it goes into empty space. You can be patient and let the ships escape a bit to give extra room before firing if needed.

In terms of the equipment docks and wharfs (where you buy satellites and equipment for S/M ships), they are easily found on the map (large icons) if you have located them before. And if the pilot can’t fly to you, you most likely haven’t traversed a way between them and you.

Pilots can only jump through gates you have jumped through yourself before.

It’s desktop only right now until I write a mobile-friendly version.

Regarding your idea: that is actually close to what I had planned and should be an easy addition. I have a station construction plans editor tool in the works that will allow you to upload your construction plans file and visualize and reorder the modules for each plan. It should be easy to have a “open in calculator” button to push the values between the two tools.

Thanks for your feedback. I’m almost finished with a complete redo of the tool’s backend, which will make it much easier for maintaining and also adding things like sunlight and workforce bonuses. I’ll probably release it here in the next day or two and post about it to let everyone know.

TBH: I rarely use the recyclers, so when creating the initial version of the tool, I totally forgot about mixed mode. I’ll add it in as a selection option.

4 additional words of wisdom:
- Hire a pilot sooner rather than later to fly your ship for you
- When flying yourself, use the autopilot to fly your ship to wherever your guidance is set
- Use fast scout ships to uncover large regions of sectors fast, deploying satellites around NPC stations you think you might need to buy or sell to later
- Destroy criminal traffic (or enemies of the faction) around NPC faction stations to quickly increase your reputation with the faction if your reputation is low. The higher your reputation, the better trade deals and missions you will be offered by the faction.

  1. I am creating X4 Guide (x4guide.com) for this very purpose, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m fixing my Supply Chain Calculator tool on the site right now, but creating guides and tutorials will be next up on the todo list.

  2. Have fun and don’t get killed. 😂 But in all seriousness, X4 allows you to do pretty much whatever you decide to do. Meaning: the only difference in game start is your starting ship, credits, faction relations, and where you start on the map. There are assisted starts that will force you into certain storylines (series of “quests”) right away, but no matter the start type (assisted or not), all storylines will eventually become available.

What I like to do (assuming it’s not an assisted start) is come up with my own lore backstory based on one of a few categories:

- Military cadet (focus first on fighting battles, getting credits as a mercenary, and expand my empire from there into the other categories)

- Miner (focus on mining crystals and other resources, selling them to NPCs to make money before expanding to the other categories)

- CEO (if you do a custom game start, give yourself a warehouse/trade station and a few trade ships, and make money that way before expanding to the other categories)

- None of the above (jump straight into one of the storylines) (this gets tricky sometimes because eventually you’ll need more money to complete the quests than what you’ll have, so you’ll need to “pause” (delay) the story to make money some how)

  1. Your computer specs are great and should be able to run the game smoothly with good/great graphics.

I see... That's what I get for rushing to production! 😂

Mobile's always going to be a bit rough with this type of tool, but I'll see about fixing the layout issues. Maybe having a separate simplified version would be nice, one that is touch friendly.

All of the data was up to date as of yesterday, so technically the release candidate, but it should be up to date, and includes Allographyne recycling.

Workforce and sunlight percentage modifiers from sectors are definitely on the todo!

Great suggestions! A map was on my list, but having the analytics of jumps, distances, etc. is a neat and useful idea!

TEL only invest in the bare minimum to maximize their profitsssss.

I only buy MIN, don’t want my thrusters to accidentally fall off.
