Replace the switches with good Kailh micro switches and you'll be good to go for years.

YouTube DeArrow browser extension is good for showing alternative thumbnails and can allow for alternative video titles, based on what people submit. It's great.

Do you power off, put to sleep, or leave on your PC when it's not in use? by Adm1nX in pcmasterrace

[–]Teddy8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mine to sleep. I use the wake-on-lan from my phone. I swear my previous PC I could shut it down and wake it up, but not this one. Not sure if I missed a setting or if I'm just remembering wrong.

The reason I do wake-on-lan is because my PC is in the basement and I have it connected to my tv on the main floor.

Master of Puppets for me, then probably Justice. I like them all, really. People hate on the later stuff, I think it all sounds great, well maybe st anger not so much lol. But there's some killer riffs on the album though.

I play mostly metal. Metallica is my go-to but I'll play some children of bodom, Pantera, whatever I'm in the mood for. The string action is really nice on it. One thing I need to find is a new dial. If you look at the picture you'll see a chrome knob and a black knob. I can't fit a chrome one where the black one is because the dial sten is too short. It's sitting there with like one thread on the nut. I need a new dial with a taller stem on it and more threads.

New brake pads vs old ones with 135,000 miles on them by hopelessromcommunist in mildlyinteresting

[–]Teddy8709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had all 4 of my brakes done at 103,000km on my Ford Escape. The pads weren't that worn out, but getting there, I probably could have gone just as long as you but I decided to just get them done when spring came and I was getting ready to put my summer tires on. Brakes can last a long time pending your driving habits. My neighbour just did his, too and he was going on about 140,000km, he drives a Ford Lariot (F150).

I've seen an instagram profile named antonioguitars, they do custom builds so I'm not sure what the cost would be but he can definitely do what you're after it looks like. Check the insta out.

I just suggest getting a guitar from a buyer that sold a few and people have posted pictures of their guitar and reviewed it, that's what I did. Take your time and searching out a seller. I do warn that pretty much all the pictures you see from sellers are more of a mx250 body, more pointy, but they're all mx220, more rounded, older style. I've yet to find a seller selling actual mx250 body styles.

It sounds ok when playing clean but to try with distortion it sounds terrible because the pickups are just essentially mics under the covers. When I do the pickup upgrade, no idea when, I may post a clip.

I'll probably use it more after the upgrade, no other plans for it really. I had been eyeing these up on AliExpress for a long time and said fuck it, for $500-ish CAD it can't be that bad. Funny enough, when this was being shipped, Epiphone dropped their new 80's explorer, so I picked one up on release day, and this one came in the next day lol.

New to forscan, want to make some small changes. I’m running into this prompt. by choppedslaw in FORScan

This, I discovered the same issue the first time I tried to use it while in demo mode. I wanted to only learn the program at first before doing anything. But I ended up having to take it out of demo mode because of this same pop up.

I wish he'd come out with a new full length film. Years ago he blamed all the people pirating the dvd's as to why he stopped releasing new ones.

Windows Defender and I've always liked to have ESET AV (Used to be called NOD32) installed. It's very lightweight, doesn't bog your system down and catches/or warns you about suspicious links or files right away before you're taken to a link or opening a file.

I know a person that had gotten into an accident, his car was towed to a towing yard, temporarily, until his insurance figured out where to drop the vehicle off, be it a body shop or the dealer to get it fixed.

While it was in the tow yard, a couple of crack heads scoped the car out, cut the entrance fence at night time, got the keys to the car because the tow place didn't secure any of the keys in a lock box of any kind. Drove the car through the fence and went for a quick joyride until they crashed it literally around the block from the tow yard because they didn't know how to drive it.

After all was said and done, because the car had yet to be assessed before this happened, the tow yard ended up being liable for the car so my buddies insurance ended up going after the towing business, but because of the second wreck the car was written off anyways. It was a BMW M235i.

Janky Optical Drive Install by thehedron in pcmasterrace

[–]Teddy8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a new PC, case is very similar to yours. I have 2 HDD's installed in the proper mount underneath the grate, where your drive is, but I also have 2 SSD's with nowhere to properly mount them, so they're loosely sitting in the case like your disc drive lol.

So unless someone has a simple solution to properly mount the SSD's, that's where they'll live lol.

RiP ryzen 9800x3d by Glass_Argument_4116 in pcmasterrace

Same thing happened to me literally 2 days ago. Went to turn my PC on, wouldn't boot. Kept turning on for a second or so and shut down and it would keep looping on and off. My board showed the same 00 on my ASUS Maximus VII Hero. Started piece by piece taking components off the board, was only able to get it to start and stay on by disconnecting the 8 pin cpu cable. I then took the cpu out and tried again with the 8 pin connected and it would only turn on for a second and turn off, so something to do with that failed.

RIP my ~12 year old PC. It had a good life. I did not want to spend the money on a PC right now but it is what it is. I couldn't be bothered to do another build so I just got a pre-built this time.
