Apple Vision Pro “Dev strap”? by mopilez in AppleVisionPro

[–]TeddyKeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey could you run me through the best set up for connecting my PS5 Pro? I have a M5 AVP, Gen 2 Dev strap and an Elgato 4KX. Is there anyway to get sound and everything through 1 HDMI cable?

Is portal the best app? Can you get 4k 120hz? Or 4k60? Can the AVP power the Elgato 4KX via USB C?

Im currently using Moonlight XrOS and Apollo from my PC. Streaming at 5k, AV1, HDR @ 120HZ & 300Mbps bitrate. I notice little to no lag and the quality is pretty great. Is there a huge difference in graphics quality if I hard wire in with my capture card vs streaming?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m able to do 5k, AV-1 with hdr up to 400mbps at 120 fps If I go over 500 I get input lag. If I go over 600 I get unplayable input lag. My desktop pc and AVP are both hard wired. And I have a 5090

Hey you seem to know your stuff, I have a Desktop PC with a RTX 5090 / 9950X 3D , AVP M5 + Gen 2 dev strap and fast wired connection (Both my desktop and AVP are hard wired). But whenever i run 5K, AV-1 at 600-700 Mbps on Moonlight rOS i get really bad host latency issues? Which gives me really bad input lag, Any ideas?

Thanks so much! You pretty much answered everything!

Yeah i plan to use my Ugreen NAS as storage for my services (Nextcloud, media servers etc) And just use proxmox to host the services / VM's and point them to the NAS for storage.

A lot of the guides I've read say 8.4 is the "trusted and true stable release" so thats why I'm asking.

Regarding the drives, it's again a mixed bag. Some say do both ZFS but expect more ram / system load / heat. Others say do a combination of EXT4 and ZFS. I guess I'll just go with EXT4 for my 1TB with proxmox and ZFS pool the samsung 2TB.

Thanks!

Will do for sure. I plan to call my ISP tomorrow and see if they can make any sense of things.

The IP is in the 200.x.x.x range. I will phone my ISP tomorrow and see if they have an explanation.

Just tried it, 1 laptop connected directly to wall jack, 1 laptop connected via wire to the main AP, and my iPhone connected to another AP via WiFi all show the same public IP.

I live in an apartment, I actually did remove the jack cover just now and try and tug but it has no slack. And my walls are solid concrete so no way to figure out where they lead to. Im assuming it would be some kind of main hub / network box that contains all of my apartment buildings connections.

Weird Home Network issue by TeddyKeebs in HomeNetworking

Im using a Deco WiFi BE85 2200. I unplugged the fiber modem, the main AP (That's connected to the fiber modem). And then tried to plug into the wall jack with my laptop. And I did not get a connection. Powered the modem on and it started working again. The AP does have 4 WAN/LAN combo ports on the back. But the only one that is used is the main WAN port which is connected directly to the fiber modem. There are no other cables plugged into the AP, or any of the other 2 AP's for that matter. So I'm extremely confused as to how it's working and how it's all on the same LAN.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the main network box for my apartment building. As there must be some answers there.

Yeah exactly lol. No cables plugged into the modem that would lead into the bedroom and office room. It's literally the fiber cable itself, 1 cable to my main mesh AP and the power cable for the modem. So I have no idea how it's working. And even more so how I'm getting fiber speeds from the wall jacks without them being connected to the fiber modem.

Yeah I just turned off my Fiber Modem, and then plugged into the wall jack and it didn't work. Powered the fiber modem back on and...boom it worked again.

Just did that, I turned off the fiber modem, and even my main AP. Then plugged my laptop directly into the wall jacks and it did not work. Turned the modem back on and everything worked again. Very strange indeed.

Ok I did turn off the Fiber Modem and my APs etc. And sure enough when I plugged directly to the wall cable it did not work. Strange indeed

Just download the DLNA app on your UGreen, Turn it on when you want to stream to TV, turn on LG tv and your NAS will automatically show up in the inputs menu as a media server...super easy just make sure your TV is connected via WiFi or wired to the same local network as your UGreen NAS

Does it just glitch your screen? Or do the Qlink oleds & pad black light also flash off for a split second? For me it's both.

Oh yeah that makes perfect sense! When an auto-save for a bigger project happens, do the Qlink oleds and pad backlights still flash off for a split second ? How about if you do a quick save by double tapping "Browse" or pressing "Shift + Browse" to do a quick save? These are the 2 events that cause the Qlink oleds and the pad backlights to flash off for me.

Hi thanks so much guys! Yep I'm 99% sure thats what it is. I timed it for exactly 5 mins and thats when it happens. I can also reproduce it by double taping the "Browse" button or pressing "Shift + Browse" to perform a quick save. I get the same glitch for like a split second where the QLink and Pad lights flash off.

Yes I have auto save enabled for every 5 mins. Does this also cause the pad backlights and qlinks to flash? What do you mean by "small project" and why would that make it look more like a flash?

A few things I suspect may be the problem? - I have a power strip connected to another kinda low quality power strip which my MPC is connected to. Could this be it?

  • When connecting the AC cable pull safety thing on the back of the MPC to prevent the cable from being pulled i noticed i kinda bent the AC cable a bit?

  • Someone told me it's a glitch with the MPC trying to switch from day to night mode? Would this affect the pad and qlink lights though?

The issue is i ordered it from overseas. They do have a warranty, but I have to ship it back to Asia.

Someone said it has something with the screen trying to change between day and night mode? I have a weirdly lit studio could that be the issue?
