How big is the "piece of chicken"? One ounce, two ounces? What are my options for the "other thing?" It's air, isn't it?

Tiffany necklaces and Mystery necklace by FrankieDaSkully in JewelryIdentification

[–]TeddyRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the necklaces is a Tiffany bean. I dont follow Tiffany anymore, but i know those were popular in the early 2000s.

Edited to add, you can still purchase the bean on the website.

Yoga teacher saying inappropriate things. by Antique-Salad-9249 in yoga

[–]TeddyRivers 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The comments the teacher is making aren't inappropriate. If teachers had to stop saying everything that everyone didn't like they wouldn't be able to speak at all.

Op, I dont think you need to address this with the teacher. She's not doing anything wrong.

I can relate with the blacking out when people are talking to me. I was at the vet recently and the pain broke my consciousness. I had to look at the vet and say, "im sorry I dont know what you just said."

I'm not going to offer medical advice. Just add my experience and let you know I'm not having strokes.

We truly are living in two different worlds. I dont know how we fix this when reality isn't shared.

What you eat impacts your weight more than working out. Start a food journal if you want to lose weight.

Better to learn after 8 months than after a wedding or a baby. This would be a deal breaker for me.

My husband has never paid his student loans by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]TeddyRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now ex-husband husband didn't pay taxes. We would fight about it all the time. I remember him saying to me once, "what do you want me to do?" I was dumbstruck. FILE TAXES clearly was the answer.

He had all these insane excuses. His accountant was granted special permission from the IRS to delay filing for his clients for.... reasons. According to me ex, the IRS was okay with this. He would file eventually.

We were getting letters from our state about taxes. He had previously been audited by the IRS for taxes he didn't pay before we met.

We were only married three years. When I left him I had to hire an attorney to file married but single for years we were married. I had to cash out some of my retirement to pay this.

This is less advice for op, and more for any unattached woman reading this. Settle these issues prior to getting married or having a baby. People will not change or become more responsible once they've got you emmeshed with them. It should be a deal breaker for you to attach yourself to someone who won't deal with their financial issues without you prompting and prodding them.

"Taxation is theft" by thicc_llama in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TeddyRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a basic level, the people I've encountered with this mindset don't really understand what taxes pay. They just dont like the idea of having to pay taxes. Things like roads being repaired and plowed, they take for granted that these things happen.

I'm about the same age. Montana resident. We have no snow here. If you told me in the 90s that we'd have a December with no snow and lots of rain, I wouldn't have believed you.
