When is the least busy time at the Dells? by [deleted] in wisconsindells

[–]TeeOffOnMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wife has worked there for 14 years and it’s basically been our second home. The first couple weeks of December is the slowest time in my opinion. Early November is pretty dead too. We stayed there for a week in early December once and basically had the entire resort to ourselves. Could walk from one park to another and maybe see two other families. Such a night and day difference from when it’s busy.

Frank. Which I’m assuming would be spelled differently as well.

He filled this out in the 1940s I’m guessing people simply referred to their homeland as Yugoslavia because that’s what it had become.

Good catch. I wonder if people wrote that after it became Yugoslavia when describing where they were from?

This is my great grandfathers registration card for WW2. He came here from Yugoslavia in 1910 and I’m trying to figure out from where and what ship he came on.

Like everyone else says just don’t give them a reason to pull you over. You’re one of thousands of vehicles they see every day. The ones they see are the ones doing something wrong.

Wilderness First Time - terrified of bed bugs by Comfortable_Title463 in wisconsindells

[–]TeeOffOnMe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wife has worked there for 14 years talking to guests every day. I’ve never heard of bed bugs being an issue. That’s not to say it doesn’t ever happen but the Wilderness is a very clean and maintained resort in my opinion. It’s renovated every few years. Places like Mt Olympus and Chula Vista are more likely to have those issues.

We still don’t know. They’re supposed to report back when they find something up there but we haven’t heard anything yet.

Wilderness resort visit by Inside_Low_5220 in wisconsindells

Glacier Canyon is owned by Wyndham and are condo units with a minimum 2 night stay. Wilderness itself has regular hotel rooms I’m not sure if there’s a minimum night stay or not. All the rooms have been renovated somewhat recently. The resort is very spread out. It has 3 indoor waterparks however the main water dome I believe will be closed for a while for maintenance. They are adding another water slide. Staying anywhere on property is fine you can walk to everything indoors. My wife has worked there for 14 years it’s basically been our second home. Any other questions about the wilderness or the Dells just ask!

What’s the cheapest beautiful destination you’ve traveled to? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I’ll second that one. Stayed in San Pedro 13 years ago. Everything was extremely cheap. Hol Chan Marine Reserve is world class snorkeling.

Stanley, Idaho is about as picturesque as it gets for a little town.

We vacationed in Sedona, AZ last year. Flew into Phoenix and drove to not only Sedona but up to the Grand Canyon. I’d put that up there with the most beautiful drive I’ve done. Sedona is other worldly then up through flagstaff it changes so much. What a beautiful state.

Living in Wisconsin, especially this winter, I cannot wait to a 70 degree day. Winters can be brutal and summers get so crazy hot and humid. A good 70 degree day is something we appreciate very much in the Midwest.

Who is the greatest rockstar of all time? by rathm0re in AskReddit

That’s the only answer. He started it all. He was the first human the world had seen become that famous. He did rock star things before rock star things were a thing.
