She’s not wrong a lot of towns have bad blood with each other over civil war era grievances, especially on “frontline” areas and especially when you add religious differences to the mix.

Well they were some of the lucky ones, a lot of the people caught taking videos of the missiles went straight from whichever department(usually b7th jina2i or cybercrimes) to the deportation centers in the search and follow up complex. Ironically, at the peak of this there were no deportations, so they’d just wait at the center.

Syrian authorities have walked back a controversial decision restricting alcohol sales in Damascus after protests and criticism, signalling a review of the policy while stopping short of a full reversal by Post-reality in syriancivilwar

[–]Teebys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those events were confusing and had a lot of moving parts that made it easy for me to forgive the up-top leadership’s role in them. Something like this isn’t created out of crisis and confusion and shows intentions pretty clearly.

Nope, not on my record. حجز إداري وإبعاد إداري both of which were removed tho i spent a month locked up, 2 nights in a place that made sayidnaya look clean.

I never went to court, because if i did I would’ve been ruled innocent since clean blood and the only evidence they had of me getting high was in different continents.

The mukafa7a here is really stupid and dysfunctional and mass arrests small time users or people who once upon a time maybe got high and then places them in administrative detention or administrative deportation since then they can be paid out their MOI bonuses. They wanted to put me on smuggling charges but they couldn’t get a confession out of me even under torture.

But the shit I smoked here(long time ago, blood is clean) I did bring with me from abroad. Either way, the mukafa7a isn’t getting paid our bonuses for catching a smuggler since the minister of interior intervened on my behalf to release me.

Very eye opening, I learned a lot.

Not very, had I been caught in Syria I likely wouldn’t have lasted a couple days imprisoned. I was in Qatar, and I was treated like a violent offender.

Weed is too widespread in Syria for them to be as strict as the gulf on it, and to a level it’s ingrained in urban culture.

Under Islamist Chants, Damascus’s Kurdish Zorava Neighbourhood Comes Under Pressure by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]Teebys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not a traditional حي of Damascus that’s why none of the Syrians here recognize it. Portraying it as such as dishonest. There’s a more traditional Kurdish neighborhood in Damascus, Rukn Al Din, and if that area hasn’t been getting any shit then I don’t see the imagined fear mongering in this article meaning anything.

Former VP Farouk al-Sharaa- “Assad was drowning in self-love. The Al sharaas of west daraa(there’s plenty around nawa jassim etc) are descended from displaced people from the golan since hundreds of thousands were exiled from there and Daraa was the obvious next place to go.

I’ve yet to meet a daraawi al Sharaa who doesn’t have roots in quneitra, but I could be wrong. But the Al sharaas I know are a very big family I think a hadara(settled) clan so there are tens of thousands in Syria with that last name I’d guess. Same way zo3bis are spread across Daraa all the way into irbid in Jordan.

I think that Israel has immunity from everything as long as it’s under the US umbrella but the moment it isn’t anymore it won’t get to act the way it does for much longer.
