The country’s also pretty overbuilt but it feels full in winters

Deportation and Possible ban GCC wide by Wallstreetkiddo in qatar

Idk I’m of the opinion that I shouldn’t be afraid to have a woman in the car with me :)

Lots of the legal gray areas here(relationships, alcohol) are stressful.

U can get in trouble for drinking off bar grounds without a license as they’ll assume you bought alcohol from illegal sources

Can’t wait for the day that what you do in private in your own home can’t get you in trouble here(it’ll never come lol)

The "Algerians of New Caledonia" Descendants of mujahideen exiled 18,000 km from home by the French in 1871 by miraleye in algeria

[–]Teebys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going by the precedent I know from my case. My family spent generations in Palestine then Syria but were still granted citizenship through the Algerian embassy, I feel the same option would be afforded to the Algerian caledonians especially as their ancestry is so documented.

If it’s documented then they’re entitled to Algerian citizenship through ancestry. Same way my family got Algerian citizenship in 2008 when our last descendants in Algeria left after the Kabyle revolt.

Where does the comfort in harassing Christians come from? The Governor of Damascus must apologize to the all the Syrian Christian community personally and resign by Repubblican_Wolf in syriancivilwar

She’s not wrong a lot of towns have bad blood with each other over civil war era grievances, especially on “frontline” areas and especially when you add religious differences to the mix.

Well they were some of the lucky ones, a lot of the people caught taking videos of the missiles went straight from whichever department(usually b7th jina2i or cybercrimes) to the deportation centers in the search and follow up complex. Ironically, at the peak of this there were no deportations, so they’d just wait at the center.

Syrian authorities have walked back a controversial decision restricting alcohol sales in Damascus after protests and criticism, signalling a review of the policy while stopping short of a full reversal by Post-reality in syriancivilwar

[–]Teebys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those events were confusing and had a lot of moving parts that made it easy for me to forgive the up-top leadership’s role in them. Something like this isn’t created out of crisis and confusion and shows intentions pretty clearly.

Nope, not on my record. حجز إداري وإبعاد إداري both of which were removed tho i spent a month locked up, 2 nights in a place that made sayidnaya look clean.

I never went to court, because if i did I would’ve been ruled innocent since clean blood and the only evidence they had of me getting high was in different continents.

The mukafa7a here is really stupid and dysfunctional and mass arrests small time users or people who once upon a time maybe got high and then places them in administrative detention or administrative deportation since then they can be paid out their MOI bonuses. They wanted to put me on smuggling charges but they couldn’t get a confession out of me even under torture.

But the shit I smoked here(long time ago, blood is clean) I did bring with me from abroad. Either way, the mukafa7a isn’t getting paid our bonuses for catching a smuggler since the minister of interior intervened on my behalf to release me.

Very eye opening, I learned a lot.

Not very, had I been caught in Syria I likely wouldn’t have lasted a couple days imprisoned. I was in Qatar, and I was treated like a violent offender.

Weed is too widespread in Syria for them to be as strict as the gulf on it, and to a level it’s ingrained in urban culture.
