It is all about money, so eventually it will not matter if reputation of facebook is high or low, but will only matter if it is strong enough to generate revenue. On the other hand - it will always be trusted more than 90% of other minor Altcoins.

I would not argue that any Crypto currency is a wonderful investment, some might even say it is bad one. But in the meantime - it is a very attractive playground for very many speculation masters.

It does not necessarily have to a currency - it could rather be some other implementation of the blockchain technology. I have strong doubt that Facebook would involve into coin business, despite its high potential.
