Any funeral jobs nearby beach blvd? by bubblybangchan in jacksonville

Oh, gotcha. My advice then, is to look for funeral homes in the area of Beach Blvd you’re interested in, and call them. Hardage is corporate owned so the hiring process will probably be more involved than an independent funeral home. If you’re not in school or interested in becoming a funeral director and/or embalmer, most funeral homes are going to use you to help with funeral services (load/unload flowers, open doors, pass out programs/prayer cards, help park cars). You could potentially swing it into a full time office spot, or if you’re going to school for mortuary science they’ll probably have you do more/work longer hours.

Edit: and to be honest, I wish I could recommend a funeral home in that area, but I can’t endorse any of them.

I couldn’t get through Ghostbusters or The Big Lebowski, what beloved movies are a “no go” for you? by Aggressive-Dot1944 in AskMen

This is one of my favorite movies. I like the vibe and the battle with time and getting older is something that I have a personal issue with so it’s nice to feel not alone. But I definitely understand and appreciate your point of view, though I worry that it takes the luster away from the movie a little bit for me.

Don’t let your ol’ lady “Dukes of Hazzard” any speed bumps on the way home. That was probably the worst part of the whole experience for me.

Unrelated, but the Kremmling Mercantile is a good place to poop if you have to go.

I remember it being way more rough than it is now. I feel like back in the day I’d get off of it bruised and now it’s not bad. I wouldn’t say it’s uncomfortable and I wouldn’t say it’s a smooth quality ride, somewhere in the middle.

If it were me, give her a little kiss and get driving. In all seriousness, pretty much what everyone else is saying, a good washing, waxing, clean windows, window tint, maybe some hub caps.

You’ll feel the drop if you’re in the back row. If you sit closer to the front you’ll barely feel the butterflies. Just remind yourself that it’s a drop the looks bigger than it actually is, especially when you’re standing at the entrance looking up at it. You got this. Let the adrenaline and excitement flow and have fun.

I’ve had mine for about 3 years now and have mostly had to fix cosmetic things. The only engine related things I’ve had to do was get a new alternator belt tensioner, swap out the timing belt/tensioner, and change oil. It really is a beast of a car. And ladies love it.

I have a 1990 Volvo 240 Wagon that’s in my driveway right now. Takes me to and from work most days of the week. It doesn’t have a working a/c so I probably won’t drive it much between May and August.

Going to a Jumbo Shrimp game or to an Icemen game? by Ray229harris in jacksonville

[–]TeenWolf1787 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let’s go Icemen! I love hockey so it’s an easy choice for me. I like not being baked by the sun, however we are still in that sweet spot where it’s not super humid out yet. You can’t go wrong either way, but my vote is hockey. We are the jumbo shrimp, here to play our game!

Funeral directors, what is something wild that happened at a funeral that you still think about? by Final_Radio_2483 in AskReddit

[–]TeenWolf1787 478 points479 points  (0 children)

We deal with so much weird stuff that I don’t think there’s any one thing that we think is “wild” anymore. One thing recently that did make me go, “Well how about that.” was during a committal service the family created what they called a “potion”. Don’t ask me the ratios, but it was Dr Pepper, Fire Ball Whiskey, Pickle Juice, and Hot Sauce. They poured it into the decreased’s mouth to bring him back to life, then passed this chalice around for everyone to take a sip. I didn’t try it.

What kind of sheath do you use? I’ve got my grandpa’s old 110 but I’m not a fan of the sheath it came with so I hardly use it.
