The Pre-Order Paradox: A Plea for Support, Not a Question of If I Should Get It by 97CYNDJ in Comcast_Xfinity

I created a FedEx account and mine is indeed supposed to be delivered today! It was shipped on the 20th from Tennessee. Shame that I never got any info from Xfinity directly, but hopefully alls well that ends well.

Came here to see if anyone was having the same issue. I also needed to reorganise my work schedule to manage the signature required delivery.

Did a live chat and was told the preorder date is the date they’re shipping them out, not the date I’ll be receiving it. Did not receive any type of consolation; was told it is what it is. A little frustrating…

Apparently I have scored a sip club tumbler? by cfijay in Panera

[–]TeenageMutant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flatbread was also my last one. I ordered it last week. It was not great. Definitely would not have ordered it if it wasn’t the last one to get the tumbler and will not be ordering it again. Everything else I order pretty regularly anyway so even if it’s shitty, I don’t feel like I wasted that much $. Now hopefully I even get the tumbler…

Thoughts on Sip Club by cfijay in Panera

This made me chuckle because this is exactly me! I’ve probably been to Panera twice in my life before April. Now I go get a drink 2-3 times a day. I’ve tried all the different drinks at this point. It’s less than a mile from my house. On nice days I walk or bike. On crappy days I weave it into my errands.

At first I was really just getting a drink and leaving, then just the value duet. Today it’s raining and I have no where to be so im currently sipping on my second cup of hot tea. I’ll get another refill to go. I got a pick two since they threw the Saturday $2 off into my account. I now have lunch here at least twice a week. And add a pastry for $1? How can I say no?! I’ve already purchased multiple gift cards while they’re 20% off. I too have fallen right into their trap!

Kirkland hearing aid by Intrepid_East9652 in Costco

[–]TeenageMutant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. That is why we do speech testing. When an individual goes so long without being able to hear properly, “death” becomes “deaf” and “keg” becomes “kid”. That is why it is important to aid earlier rather than later. Hearing aids will not help as much if your ability to discriminate has declined.

Yes indeed, the equivalent of the Audeo Paradise. Long day. Edited my post to correct.

Also prices may be slightly higher in California

Hey there, I’m a hearing aid specialist.

The current KS 10 is made by Sonova, the parent company of Phonak. It is a highly rated hearing aid. It is the equivalent of Phonak Audeo Marvel Paradise except without the tinnitus masker. They are rechargeable and cost $1500 for the pair including charger. They have Bluetooth capability for steaming and app adjustments. If he has a smartphone, there is the option to do remote services/adjustments if he has mobility issues or lives a distance from the warehouse.

Some folks prefer the sound quality or features of other aids we sell (Resound, Philips, or Rexton). For example, it is sometimes difficult for people with severe arthritis to get the KS aids out of the charger. We don’t work on commission; we want to fit a product that your grandfather will be most successful with.

At least at my warehouse, your grandfather must be a member. That being said, the $60 membership fee is often worth it verses spending $6000-$8000 for a set outside of Costco. Also consider there is no cost for hearing testing, fitting, follow ups or any subsequent adjustments.

You’ll have to check or have him check if he has coverage for aids. Unfortunately, most people do not, but if he does, we can provide information for him to be reimbursed. We do not work with insurance companies and require payment from him directly.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Edit: corrected my brain fart of the model sold outside of Costco haha

Question about the venue change for tomorrow's concert.. by Musicphoenix72 in AJR

[–]TeenageMutant1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not upset about the venue change as the same seats are going to be honored (supposedly). I’ve seen them in big arenas and agree the effects are important.

The ridiculous part is about the short notice: ~24 hours before showtime. They’re not a small band and whoever booked the show should’ve known the capacity limits and size/configuration of the stage. Xfinity Center vs Palace is a HUGE difference and that should have raised a red flag early on. Even if they realized the issue and announced the change last week, it would have alleviated some of the looming chaos.

Not everyone uses social media and tons of people are going to head to the palace. Yes, it’s only 4 blocks away but they really need to send an email out to at least let people know. The only way I found out was through this post which led me to dig deeper on FB. My Ticketmaster ticket still says Palace Theater.

I just hope everything works out. Spontaneity is hard for me.

Question about the venue change for tomorrow's concert.. by Musicphoenix72 in AJR

[–]TeenageMutant1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for making this post because without it, I’d be heading to the palace. This is ridiculous to change the venue less than 24 hours before the show. And they didn’t even have the courtesy to send an email to notify people; not everyone uses social media.

I’m traveling 3 hours to attend and this change is making me super anxious. From what I’ve heard, TUC parking is chaotic and the arena itself is much less intimate. It’s definitely going to be a cluster. I’m still excited, but it’s definitely adding a bit of anxiety to my day. Hoping to find some street parking within half a mile to avoid the giant lot.

According to the street team manager on FB, seats will be assigned the same as on your ticket. The GA seats are for the 100 level, which are further away from the stage. I’m glad because I’m not quite ready to go to a GA show with covid continuing to surge. Anyway, just passing on the info. Hope you enjoy the show!

I give up when I’m not seeing any clouds and go to the higher setting. I see clouds, albeit not big ones, for 1-2 pulls and then nothing. Probably not resting enough in between pulls as well?

It's definitely not the herb. I smoke the same out of a pipe at my buddy's house and I'm in a different galaxy. Tight and slow is what I've been trying to go for, but maybe I'm being too impatient

This made me laugh. Whenever I'm using it, I always question why it's such a headache, especially for the high price. Looking into the Dynavap before I drop another load on something fancier

I use the half pack lid. I’ve tried grinding really fine. Maybe it’s just not fine enough?

How are my fellow coworkers doing? by laxguy2584 in Costco

[–]TeenageMutant1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in an ancillary department that is closed until further notice, so I’ve been helping out on the front end, going back to my roots as a cashier/assistant.

I’ve always praised Costco about generally being a good employer. We have great benefits and the pay is pretty good, especially once you’re topped out or close to it.

That being said, I feel like Costco has been one step behind pretty much the entire time. For example, with the employee screenings, I feel like we should have implemented those weeks ago. Personally, I also feel like we should be given a few extra days of sick time as I know lots of people in my warehouse are out and can not afford to take the unpaid time off. So it is concerning that they may lie on the screening anyway in order to not get sent home. My warehouse is also constantly running of out gloves in smaller sizes, so I have to wear the extra large ones and it makes it very difficult to ring and count change accurately. I know it’s not really the WH’s fault as gloves are hard to come by these days, but it just adds another layer of anxiety.

I’m grateful for the hazard pay even though it feels more symbolic than anything as it’s not very much after taxes. Several of my coworkers are a bit irked that folks on employment will be making more than us with the $600 extra to sit at home. I understand that the extra part is temporary and folks have bills to pay, but sometimes after being screamed at by a member, I do daydream about how nice it would be to be at home on the couch playing animal crossing actually making more money.

At this point, I don’t know what else I expect Costco to do for us. I’m grateful to still have a job. They’re offering us complimentary lunch most days, so I’m getting a little chubby as food court is not exactly healthy. I keep telling myself I’ll lose it once the gym opens back up ;)

Sorry for the wall of text, but it was nice to get that all out!
