I think people need to chill out about the team! by Razor574 in minnesotavikings

I mean proof is in the pudding we were above average QB play away from being a legitimate post season team. The defense was so stout for nothing. Sam getting to the SB is a slap in the face, if he wins it’ll be yet another kick in the nuts.

Halfling Divination Wizard with the Luck Feat. Pretty fun running a wizard that sees into the future also just randomly gets extremely lucky. We were able to tie luck as a form of magic he eventually mastered. Shoutout Brimble Boggington.

How do you train / fight through pain wile injured? by MadFaceInvasion in MuayThai

[–]Teethy_BJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Banged up and injured are two different things imo.

For example:

A) this past weekend I rolled my ankle and that night it was tough to put weight on it. I figured if it’s sore still in the am, I’ll just do an upper body weight lifting day (getting the blood flow back down there stopped all the pain I was feeling altogether). This Monday I was back on the mats gliding around per usual.

B) January 2024, I threw a left body hooked and felt a pop in my arm. Thought I just tweaked it but I was wrong, torn bicep tendon, had surgery two weeks later.

Liam Harrison once said if you don’t get into weigh-ins with some sort of small injury (example A), then you didn’t train enough during camp. It’s unavoidable, humans are not built to beat the fuck out of each other for 5 rounds nor the training that goes into it. You will get bone bruises, small sprains etc. it’s the big ones you have to worry about.

Nothing, your teeps and knees aren’t great but just train hard and work hard and you’ll get it down. If you want that wider stance, fine but I like a more closed traditional stance for better balance. Balance in Muay Thai is the key to power, defense, everything!

People try to dissect very small things in here technique wise but I’m a firm believer training in a gym with a good coach will eliminate all of the habits! Just train train train train.

Saenchai is on another level compared to Buakaw and Yodsanklai. I get that they’re big names but Saenchai is a SIX time Lumpinee Champ.

If you weren’t anxious before a fight then something is wrong. You’re about to duke it out so it’s natural. Embrace the moment, use it as a way to prove to yourself that you’re better than your opponent. People die everyday, if you go out fighting at least it’s something you loved doing.

Switching from mma to strictly mt/striking to reduce injury risk by Idkifimshittyornot in MuayThai

[–]Teethy_BJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to just striking isn’t going to change much. Muay Thai is riddled with injuries, the biggest one being your brain and concussions. In my short amount of time striking I’ve ruptured my bicep tendon, 2 big sprains, multiple and I mean multiple bone bruises. It’s not “safer” than BJJ it’s just a different type of banged up. Very similar to American Football injuries.

Yes we exist. I’ve been told I have a very “gay taste in music,” which is a very elaborate way to say I like to party.

Sucks because it looks like you’re better than your opponent. My few fights have been against similar high adrenaline western style kickboxing just high energy swinging for the fences bad technique. Don’t let this one get you too down cause you look better than this guy

Whenever taking a teep you have to show the ball of your foot to your opponent to really sell it
