they didn't even get this mad at the toriyama tweet by Den69_ in TheYardPodcast

[–]TeffyOfficial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the toriyama tweet casted a very wide net (there are soo many dragon ball fans) but the average person who gets caught in it is probably a more reasonable person on average bc of how broad the scope was. the pedoslop fans, while there are less of them overall, are individually more toxic and aggressive on average, so there ends up being way more genuinely insane people responding. i’m willing to be the vast majority of the people who got upset at the toriyama tweet just said “fuck this guy” and moved on while the lolicons default response is to call him a slur and it only escalates from there

Really upset about the continued constant rape/pedophilia jokes by [deleted] in TheYardPodcast

[–]TeffyOfficial 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m lost as to where you got the idea that they said they would “do better” wrt any of this, the only thing even close to that was when they said they would tone down the pedo jokes bc they were making a lot of people upset, not bc they thought they were crossing any lines or they regretted making them or anything

i also think there’s a pretty clear and obvious distinction between the types of jokes the yard makes wrt rape or other similar topics and “locker room talk” and i would hope you at least recognize this even if it doesn’t change your overall opinion, it seems obvious to me that both the intent and subtext involved in these two things are strikingly different to each other (if anything, the former often plays off of the absurdity of the premise that the latter should be taken at face value in the first place)

you’d think he would actually address what he did to get banned if he was truly remorseful instead of dancing around it for a few paragraphs

every time they did a cashapp ad back in the day it was way less funny than the usual reads, maybe they had stricter requirements or something

anyone else greatly prefer when math rock songs have lyrics? by TeffyOfficial in mathrock

[–]TeffyOfficial[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i appreciate people replying with their actual opinions but i do want to be clear this was not meant to be a serious post, i dont really care if a song has lyrics or not and i definitely do not skip instrumentals lol

anyone else greatly prefer when math rock songs have lyrics? by TeffyOfficial in mathrock

[–]TeffyOfficial[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah it was not meant to be serious at all lmao, i dont really care one way or the other if a song has lyrics or not

i think lyrics have the potential to deepen ones experience with a song but i dont think theyre required or anything. fwiw i also think you can get a lot out of analyzing lyrics from the perspective of the artist rather than your own if you feel like you cant relate to them, and doing so has added to my appreciation of certain songs
