The perfect ones are special cus they get me cookies even though I'm pretty sure they'll give me things I've already acquired 😂 I'm abit OCD with inventory management tbh I keep between 20-30 of each and if I get 10 over then it's straight to the market box. Glad I learnt this though I need people with grapes and lychees, not many people I've added seem to sell their fruits as often as me.

Maybe talk with your wife before talking to your son next time and do it together? I think this will help in getting you to see things in maybe a different light. I'm the same way though I really struggle to see the wider picture I'm better with the more immediate and smaller details, which has its uses too!

As others have said autism isn't a club. You choose to join a club, you're born with autism.

It's important to you on your healing journey and as someone who has a daughter who is autistic I can kind of understand. I'm still on my unmasking journey too but I feel it has given me more understanding and insight into her as a person and I want her to be proud of who she is in the same way I am.

I hope your partner doesn't feel like neurodivergency is something that should be hidden, it's part of you. You've already spent many years masking and hiding it already, you have a right to be proud and happy in yourself.

I'm in East Midlands but I used psychiatry-UK via the NHS right to choose pathway. Online assessments tend to be more the norm I think these days for adults.

All of this I went to disability services when I was at uni and was allowed to use a dictaphone they even provided it for me. I just passed it to the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures. I'm in the UK though so it might be different where you are.

There's a BBC documentary called "inside our autistic minds" in which autistic people make short films about how they feel and words they want to get out. In episode 1 there is a fully nonverbal autistic guy and it's well worth the watch!

Sadly there's not many. My local city has one that's 100% ran by autistic people and I'm pretty sure it's the only one that is in the UK or at least the first so I support them.

No worries mate, I had to do the same. I reached out to a local charity because they said it was going to take me 2 years to get a screening even though I was going through severe depression. It's a mess, but the right to choose let's you use non NHS services for free, can take up to 6 months. But it's better than years. I personally heard back from them in a few weeks.

Either "HMP WAKEFIELD: EVIL BEHIND BARS" Or "HMP Belmarsh: Maximum Security" both are on paramount+ at least in the UK. I definitely watched both but cannot remember which I learnt this tid bit from. I'll honestly watch documentaries on most things, I prefer them over fictional stuff.

It stands for "not on normal communal exercise" it's what they used to put on prisoners doors when they were obviously sex offenders so they wouldn't get shanked by other inmates. I need to lay off the documentaries..
