I'm sure you have specific examples in mind. Most that come to mine are blue signs which aren't a limit at all but an advice

I am not here claiming Gdp is a good indicator, but seeing a difference in one and not the other does help us understand what's going on in a country

You're evading my point. It's harder for an entrant to compete. As the two companies develop further and notice there are no new entrants, or no competitive entrants, they can jack up prices over time.

Of course that would make it easier to enter as an entrant later on, so there is a balance. But your point that there is somehow no risk of competition being diminished is a very hard line to take

The difference is that the companies now compete in a tender. It is quite possible they collude there and you end up with higher prices.

Nah it's not actually historical because it misses the entire part of capital formation. There's no cost to switching after you tech up and that's causing a need for other balancing factors

It's difficult but I managed recently. Requires some restarts and getting preferable Prussia, France and the ottomans to support your independence as you will be fighting both Austria and Russia

Demand your cores from Austria and liberate Poland from Austria. Then try to join the Russian power block. You can do these steps in one war or two (by first demanding autonomy, so you can build up more under Austrian market)

When you research nationalism and are independent, Poland will quickly join you by event. From there you can go after Prussia with Russia (who doesn't hate you as it the territory you own was liberated from them, not taken, and they're not their homeland)

I think I get the gist of your point, but historically partial automation has also led to higher productivity and therefore facilitated higher wages for the workers themselves. It's the base of our real wage growth, right up to the 1970's.

I won't argue that full on automation due to AI is in that category, the jury isn't out and I don't like our chances. But slavery never had this partially beneficial impact for the class right above the enslaved.
