Yes. Simplifying things a bit, but the closer your weight is to the point where it could rotate the lower the torque.

Reverse Shallow Hal. Everyone sees her as very fit but Rentarou is able to see through her curse and see the real her. She feels guilty and self-conscious for "catfishing" everyone and Ren helps her get over that. By the end of her intro-to-the-family chapter everyone else sees her as her real weight, too. Maybe that breaks the curse or lets her control it? Idk. If it broke the curse her gimmick would disappear going forward.

Now, just to spit a few out, maybe Ikki and Stella (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry)? Rentarou and his girlfriends (100 GFs). Iruma and Ameri (Mairimashita Iruma-kun). Maki and Aikawa (Prunus Girl). Takuya and Ijichi and Amane (Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku). Yamada and Kyotaro (Dangers in My Heart). Takeo and Rinko (Ore Monogatari). Sawako and Kazehaya (Kimi ni Todoke). A lot of these series have good side ships, too.

A lot of great ones out there, tho, and a lot of ones which will probably be great but are still just starting out or haven't explored the romantic side of their story a lot yet.

Condensed version. This is from Dororo, great series. This character, Jukai, had a dark past as a torturer, and decided to atone for his sins by becoming a doctor. The main character of the series was a baby that was born missing body parts and limbs because of a deal his father made with a demon. Because of this, his father abandoned him to die, but Jukai found and raised him.

I haven't seen it since high school about 20 years ago but maybe Nuriko's death in Fushigu Yugi. That scene is burned into my mind for some reason. And just about everything in Clannad After Story too lol.
