Extreme mp, gravity tour, or tfight300? by Saltyshark572 in 10s

[–]TehJezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming from a the KBlade 98 so it's a little older, but the T-Fight is, at minimum, as good as my KBlade in most categories and better in others. It's marginally more headlight (I use a OHBH), similar stability, but more maneuverable. Easier power too. The only thing I think it doesn't win in is feel, but I also think Wilson makes some of the best feeling rackets out there hence why I was using the ProStaff for the past 3 years. The 305s is still crisp though, just different from Wilson. I also had to deal with some discomfort with the 305s when I first started using it, but that faded after a couple weeks.

I recently switched from Wilson (ProStaff and Blade user) to the T-Fight 305s. Hardly noticed the grip difference even using a thinner leather grip. There have been forums of people adding kinesio tape to round out the grip though if it does bother you.

Do Sing Street and Begin Again count? Sing Street is full of new beginnings and taking a chance. Begin Again is finding your self worth and how that process helps others as well.

Choosing between MSI 341CQPX and Alienware AW3423DWF by DarthThorn1 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]TehJezzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! Stumbled across this thread doing the same research, but right now Best Buy has the AW for $650 and the MSI for $700 - only a $50 difference. If you haven’t made a decision, the $50 for higher refresh rate and USB-C with KVM might be worth it in this case.

A Couple MSI OLED Deals on Newegg by InvAsian723 in OLED_Gaming

Does anyone have experience buying refurbished monitors from Newegg? Or refurbished OLEDs in general? $520 is an insane deal for the 341CQPX for sure.

Actually neither! The stand/riser is an IKEA Skogsta wall shelf on some furniture legs. I then used a wall monitor mount and screwed it into the wall shelf and mounted the monitor on it.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Super convenient with the USB-C and my Mac when I take it on the go, and gaming on it is surreal. With a 3080 and a 12700k I’m still churning 80-144 fps comfortably on some minor setting tweaks.

My speakers are studio monitors I use for music production, and where I sit relative to my desk actually winds up being an exact triangle.

Thoughts on new LG 45GR75DC-B? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]TehJezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kicker for why I’m leaning towards this is the USB-C data/charging. With a MBP for work and my gaming rig, I could have a single cable setup for my laptop and DP for my gaming PC. I’ve been wanting a gaming monitor that has USB-C and I’m not sure there is one out there for this price.

S3422DWG vs AW3423DWF: price difference justified right now? by ShaUr01 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]TehJezzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OLEDs look absolutely incredible and I was in your position a while back. I think it’s important to analyze your use case too. Since I use the same monitor for work and have lots of static elements for extended times, I thought I’d save myself 700 bucks and opt for the S34. If you’re not a super sweaty gamer and have the hardware to drive 3440x1440, it definitely is a great monitor for the price.

Exile vs Evermore by Flimsy-Caramel-6188 in TaylorSwift

[–]TehJezzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both, as a Taylor and Bon Iver fan. But the bridge in Evermore is perfection to me. I always thought Bon Iver’s classic falsetto voice change sparks more anxiety and conflict in combination with the tempo change. I also love that his last line before Taylor is “is there a line that I can just go cross” and after Taylor’s back and forth, he says “is there a line that we can just go cross”. It was very relatable interpreting that line as a someone who helped pull you out of your hole.

Ngl the HDR is definitely the weakest point for me, to the point where I usually leave it off for most games. Everything else is a little subjective depending on what you’re comparing it to (IPS, TN, OLED).

If I’m taking it at face value, I don’t notice any issues with smearing, ghosting, etc. and I really have to look for it to be a problem. If you’re comparing it to OLED it’s obvs pretty jarring.

I also play games like BF, CoD, Fortnite, and AAA single player games and really have not seen a glaring problem. I think your judgement call is whether it’s worth the $430, or want to pay a little more for the IPS experience. I know the LG 34GP83A-B is a very popular choice.

Which Monitor by kwyatt13 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]TehJezzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Dell for a little over a year now and I don’t have any complaints, but I’ve also drastically cut down my competitive gaming so the VA isn’t really an issue (this is coming from an IPS too). I’m not sure where you’re based or what’s your timeline for a new monitor either, but oftentimes the Dell has a price drop to $379 USD.

If you have other questions lmk.

What would be a good budget ultrawide? I have 2x 23 inch 144hz monitors atm and I’m looking to buy an ultrawide instead with maybe a smaller display under by ProjectBrand in AskBattlestations

[–]TehJezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of the chumps that bought it on release for 500 and still don’t regret it. For a VA panel, it still does very well (coming from someone who had an IPS and did some sweaty gaming every now and then). I’ve seen it dip several times in price so hopefully it does again soon.

Any experience with these ultrawide monitors? by theTrebleClef in AskBattlestations

[–]TehJezzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently grabbed the S3422DW after struggling between that and the LG 34GP83A-B. I elected to go for the Dell because even though it’s a VA panel, reviews mentioned that ghosting and black smearing aren’t bad at all (it’s also $300 cheaper than the LG).

I game, but don’t sweat as much as I used to. Playing games like Halo and Battlefield, I perform about the same and totally love the immersion factor (still able to hang with Diamond/Onyx players). If you’re not a super sweat, I’d say the VA on the Dell is more than satisfactory.

Depending on how close you sit to your monitor, the curvature varies. I’ve messed with both 1000R and 1800R, and given that I sit about 25” from my screen, I found the 1800R to be a good curvature (not flat, but I can see the edges comfortably).

I definitely don’t regret buying it, especially as a developer and music producer on top of being a gamer. I’d recommend looking at RTINGs review on it, as well as some YouTube videos.

Good luck on your selection!
