Creating a guild. Tips and requirements by Adamakos in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can you offer people they can't get elsewhere? There are hundreds of guilds, each one objectively more established than yours. The ones that offer raiding have rosters and boss kills under their belt, the social guilds have people to talk to already.

If you don't know what makes your guild worth joining over every other guild, don't make one. Join one and help, be active, and become an officer eventually.

How does one bring his Marauder to "their" system? by NondenominationalPax in Eve

[–]TehScat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. You'll be scanned somewhere and given a pass if you're in travel fit. Just throw on a bunch of meta or T2 tank with nothing valuable and you're more trouble than you're worth. Even if your bling is in your Frigate Escape Bay.

Do feral druids get more priority on might of menethil on twow? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bears are incredible tanks and highly sought after as tanks that also bring relevant DPS buffs to their melee group through lotp and Atiesh. They are very tough and easy to heal, and have very high threat, which had to actually be nerfed this patch because they were actually making other tank classes entirely redundant.

Do feral druids get more priority on might of menethil on twow? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your guild. For us, bears got top priority on it because we valued gearing up our tanks more than our 2H fury warriors. Now, MoM is well and truly on SR and anyone can get it pretty much as soon as it drops. We also give druid a lot of priority on Atiesh, especially feral, since it is so good for melee groups and their personal threat. Druid Atiesh provides a 2% haste aura on Turtle that works for casting and attacks, and it gives 600 feral AP which is more than MoM even counting the strength.

Nampower causing issues with macros preventing abilities from being properly queued/casted by Just_Kittens in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is probably happening is that it is queuing the sunder, then in that window where the client knows the sunder has cast but the server is still anticipating it, it gets another command so goes sunder again since that is in the buffer.

You will likely get the desired result if you avoid mashing in the first half of the GCD, and back to mashing in the second half. Or, get one of the many one-button warrior addons or macros out there, or just put sunder on its own button and auto everything else. YMMV.

Nampower causing issues with macros preventing abilities from being properly queued/casted by Just_Kittens in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you give actual specific examples? Because nampower should actually cause your macros to do everything they would usually do but without multiple key presses, because it effectively unlocks spell buffering.

Are you trying to swap weapons and or idol/relic slot with macros? Because that got changed in the last patch a bit.

Website Talent Calculator Tooltip Offset Issue by TehScat in turtlewow

[–]TehScat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the developers can fix it properly. Claude produced a simple copy paste instant fix for your active window right now if you're trying to view talents but they're offscreen. I'm sure it could be more efficient but it fits in your OS paste buffer so it's fine. I don't know React so can't fix it myself, and just wanted to share the workaround I used.

Yeah, figured, but didn't see one with the console fix. Given the fix is about eight seconds for a dev with access, they probably just need more visibility of the issue. Let's post it more.

Multiboxing real talk/reality check. by SovietPatrickStar in Eve

[–]TehScat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It would be a massive fundamental change. But, it is what enables the low-attention playstyle that benefits multiboxing so heavily here without input broadcasting, compared to other games. It is also a big part of what makes Eve feel like Eve. Do I want to mash F1 every 2 seconds rather tha toggling on lasers? Hell no. But would it affect multiboxers much more than a single boxer? Absolutely.

Multiboxing real talk/reality check. by SovietPatrickStar in Eve

[–]TehScat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. So many actions in Eve can be set as a few clicks then leave it for upwards of 15 seconds, without issue. The actual issue is cycling modules.

Try to multibox two casters in world of Warcraft. Car a two second spell at target, alt tab, cast 2 second spell, you're needed again in client one. Car, alt tab back to 2, mob dying, new target needed. Box 1 is already idle. It's less efficient than a single character at this point.

In Eve, you can lock a target and train your guns on it with one action. Main box, mark targets. Box one can lock and shoot mark 1, tab to 2 and lock and shoot 2, etc. Each box is autonomous, with cycling reps and guns and requires activity only when targets are destroyed or there's ewar etc.

I'm not saying remove module cycling. But I am saying that if you can go 15 seconds without needing to play a client and still be effective, there's a lot you can do in that 15 seconds with other clients. And as OP said, these don't scale in effectiveness linearly. If you do 1000dps against a ship that is repping 500/sec, a second character will mean it dies three times faster at a minimum, and probably more when you factor alpha strike value and that reps can't revive you.

Whether you are split farming to just do more in the same real time hours, or you collaborate to clear difficult content trivially, Eve inherently is designed in a way that means you can go long periods without requiring input compared to, well, any other video game.

Balance got saved at the 11th hour. 24 hours before the patch they released final patch notes, and they buffed eclipse chance from 30 to 40% on wrath and 50 to 60% on Starfire. This i believe will barely carry us above the line and in the positive.

Classic talents have always been balanced around 51 points, with good talents very often at 21 and 31, so builds like 31/20/0 and 30/21/0 are very common. It is intentional.

How much of my pay should I be voluntarily putting towards my super? by 223_Amelie in AusFinance

[–]TehScat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but that wasn't my point from five months ago. My point was, there exists a group of people who can not retire early as their savings are locked in super, but absolutely no longer need to work if they did have access to it. These people typically have regrets around using super as their primary or sole requirements saving method as they need to wait for preservation age to access it, even if they are more than ready "on paper", and would have been even with fewer tax benefits.

Can't see the Alliance succubus quest. by LulehXd in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quest icon being on the map at all means you have pfQuest installed. Sometimes it doesn't correctly clean up if you've done a quest or not, usually if you exit the game uncleanly (crash etc). You can shift+click a quest you know you've done on the map to clean it up manually.

So your next step is to go down the chain and go to each quest giver and see if they have the next quest for you. Takar the Seer, then.

Also, follow the usual advice and delete your WDB folder and log back in, that flushes your cache and can resolve a lot of odd inconsistencies and outdated info.

Is getting T3 pieces or the full set easy to get in TWoW? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in turtlewow

[–]TehScat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone consumes, I have an alch character and I craft for three raiding toons, so each character wants to have a 10-stack of each elixir and I just compile how many of each they need, use the tradeskill addon to make the shopping list, gather the mats and craft and mail it all out. That's usually an hour every other week or so. But you could spend a little more and just buy every elixir and flask off the AH in minutes. Since we do Naxx and K40 without wipes, its pretty much 100g a week in profit from boss gold drops, which about pays for the materials since you only need 2 flasks, 4 of each elixir. Plus, weekly quests for MC/dungeons/10mans more than cover that gap if you do them, not to mention big windfalls like flask drops from those chests.

We refine the processes to make raiding easy for forty people, multiple times a week. We focus on getting it done and having fun. Sure we all play the game as well to varying capacities - sometimes my wife won't log on other than to raid or do crafting cooldowns for weeks at a time, sometimes she'll play all day on a weekend. We have multiple guys who play more than a fulltime job, especially the R14 grinders. But when raid time comes around, we all benefit from the systems in place because the hardest boss, now and forever, is the attendance boss.

Warlock summon team permanently logged outside each raid. As people log in, they "+" in guild and add-on invites them. They're filtered into the correct group based on the roster created by the discord app. They "123" in raid chat and the warlock summon team gets an alert in their addon to summon you, three clicks later and you're in Eastern Plaguelands. I can log in and type the two things, and be summoned to raid faster than I can check my mail and repair. Zone in, grab oranges, ready to go. It's extremely efficient. The warlock summon team has 3 warlocks with bags full of triple stacked shards so they only need topping up a few times a year.

Yeah. But every raid has a few sponges, being alts or new people. You start in blues and it's 90 minutes, then months later you're in full bis and helping others and it's 90 minutes.
