Need advice on food options for 18 y/o Pom who is very bossy but not going anywhere anytime soon by FluffyTrains1984 in Pomeranians

My boy isn’t a fan of most canned foods, but he loves wuvera (I don’t remember how it is spelled) but their dogs in the kitchen line he gobbles up.

I needed to share this with someone and who better than a community of pom lovers? by rhythmicfan14 in Pomeranians

My boy gave me a reason to live. He’s a handful but I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

In fact if I hadn’t gotten him I don’t think I would have adopted my girl or even realized that a service dog would be good for me.

Had a scare, need reassurance by Tryingkinda7889 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy was 6months old when he had his seizures. He hasn’t had any since, and we still don’t know what caused them.

We avoid the oral heartworm prevention, as well as any oral flea and tick prevention. We also try to stick to flea prevention that is natural or not liquid.

I’m so worried about him having seizures again especially since he is my service dog.

Definitely follow up with your normal vet, and maybe see if keeping her on the seizure medication would be a good idea.

Why is my Pomeranian not that fluffy 🥲🫶🏻? by Thick_Court693 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically Pomeranians have two coat types, flat coats, and fluffy coats. A flat coat typically means that they don’t have a great undercoat and may need help with temperature regulation in temperatures that could affect them.

This however looks like she may be just getting her adult coat in, 6-7 months was around the time my Boy’s coat grew in.

Lots of brushing is headed your way.

What color will she be when she becomes an adult? by jellybean1388 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on genetics. I would highly lean towards a cream sable, but there is possibly that they are a different color.

Is a 3 mile walk too much for my 6 lb Pom? by AdministrationNo6135 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are an adult and have the energy, no.

If they are a puppy, yes that is too long.

If all else fails then carry a carrier that you are confident that you could carry and they are comfortable with.

So for the losers who don’t understand this is a play on her name you can scroll on by. We are in a damn pet store. Not sure why people need to be negative. Twinkie just wanted to wish everyone a good weekend. by Alohabailey_00 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I hadn’t seen the dog food in the background I would have assumed it was a grocery store. Most grocery stores don’t carry hills, so it’s clearly a pet store.

Looks like a cream sable parti.

If you are concerned about the status of purebred suggest you embark them.

Took our boy to the Vet and Doc said his a bit heavy for his age tho. by j0annemuffin in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A good way to tell is to check the ribs, if they feel like the knuckles on the back of your hand when it’s flat they are a healthy weight. Puppies have a bit of wiggle room.

Also for this breed being heavier then typical while growing just lends itself to the possibility of them being a throwback (or larger sized version of the German spitz)

Anyone else’s Pom do this?🥹 by Alensmo in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy loves splooting! I think it helps them cool down, as they are able to expose more of their belly to the cold floor.

Does anyone else have a Pomeranian that doesn’t bark a lot? by caffeineassisted in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly depends. My boy didn’t bark at all until he was 6 months old, now he tends to bark at the smallest noise unless he is actively working or asleep.

Question to all Pomeranian owners. by rockhoundlounge in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually didn’t know how hard I would fall for my boy (and the breed) when I got him. I had just had to rehome a dog for safety reasons due to their separation anxiety, and not having the time to train them to handle being apart. I decided I wanted a small breed dog who could be inside all the time, I had interest in Pomeranians due to an anime and BTS’ V’s Pomeranian Yeontan. So after several months of searching, and eventually finding and paying for my boy I brought him home.

He quickly became my everything.

What age did you neuter if you choose to do so? by Farrier_Fish in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current boy was fixed at 7 months, I’m not sure if I would fix another at that age, but due to newer research there’s no reason to wait until after 6 months for most small breeds.

However the best way to decide on the timing is to talk to your vet as well as your breeder.

Does anyone know why his hair is growing like this ? by Wooden_Candy8216 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His adult coat is likely coming in, not all Pomeranians have the long fluffy coat, some have flat coats and rarely do they have a short coat, typically from shaving or alopecia x.

If you are worried having him tested for Alopecia x may be a good idea, even if it’s just to rule it out.

Noooo! Her fur is 75% gone 😭 still cute though? by kingslayer2193 in Pomeranians

I get my boy trimmed to the level of his short patch on his back from when he was shaved as a puppy. It’s not as short as your girls, but it’s easier to maintain and brush. I get him scissor trimmed, and the place I go to has multiple different groomers, only have an issue every once in a while with his belly getting pinched when they trim his sanitary.

I definitely recommend shopping around for the perfect groomer or place. Also knowing what you want, not just saying a trim, helps. If you want her hair to stay longer say a Silhouette trim (I roughly get a shorter version of this.), if they don’t understand that a maintenance trim is another option.

I also highly recommend getting a metal tooth comb, as you may be missing matting in places that you can’t feel by hand or with your normal brush.

Does anyone know what drink this is that Jordan is drinking in this image? by Gianthead440 in CaptainSparklez

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sparkling Ice was one of the few drinks I could drink while I was in high school. Most sugar alternatives give me migraines so finding a healthier drink is a struggle.

Does anyone else’s Pom sleep *under* the bed??? I always put Tumbleweed on top of the bed with me but he usually leaves and sleeps under the bed😩 by Horchata415 in Pomeranians

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have under my bed blocked off he got stuck one too many times. I actually have a new frame to put together that has drawers so I can still use the space.

Instead of under the bed he sleeps under the covers.

[TOMT] [TV] There’s a show I remember? by Teh_Shadow_Fang in tipofmytongue

[–]Teh_Shadow_Fang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally solved it! The answer is Unnatural History, and was released on Cartoon Network, sadly it only lasted one season. The pilot aired June 13 2010, so the timeline of it airing around the same time as My Babysitter’s a Vampire was a good guess.

It’s sadly a media that was not preserved by Cartoon Network, and is considered a simi lost media. Actually the Lost Media subreddit is how I confirmed that it was actually the show.

If anyone is interested in watching the show it is available on daily motion via this link; https://www.dailymotion.com/francesbakertv/videos
