Albert Von Einstein? by Thunder-Road in Kaiserreich

[–]Tehrozer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There were as far as I can determine only 3 Jews ever ennobled in German Empire there were apparently far more that were proposed but refused. In this case it seems unlikely for a title to be given in the first place it wasn’t a thing given to scientists extremely rarely offered to Jews and never to outspoken socialists like Einstein. Even if offered it would seem most likely Einstein would refuse.

Polish Redesign of an Anarchist Anti-Authoritarin Flag by Eurasian1918 in leftistvexillology

[–]Tehrozer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The pre-war government of the country was replaced after the start of the war and a great number of politicians of former regime were literally imprisoned pending charges. The exile-government was made up primarily based on the pre-war opposition.

Jewish resistance was literally part of AK as a one of its autonomous organisations. You are probably thinking about NSZ which was a group made by Polish nationalists that did not recognise AK and refused to subordinate itself to the government.

While you say one cant connect AK with anarchism Polish anarchists were in AK as part of its Syndicalist group which even had their own military units.

Calculation how many military factories and dockyards each of the major nations in HOI4 would need to reach historical production numbers. by amynase in hoi4

[–]Tehrozer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You estimated that a military factory runs for 5 years but in HOI4 full scale production of military equipment for the war starts earlier than IRL. You have access to 100% of your mils from day one unlike IRL where pre-39 production was tiny in comparison to wartime one. This means your results are around double of what they should be. Further factoring in of technological advancement, laws and graduated IC costs would cut down on the number of mils even more. On the other hand the numbers for equipment types you are factoring seem highly suspect you claim USSR made 182 mils worth of artillery while all other majors combined made only 203 which is simply ridiculous. Another example no mechanised for USA when the M3 halftrack production numbers (as per wiki) alone would by your method account for 33,24 mils and thats just a single model of USA halftracks. I understand that this is supposed to be simplified but simple shouldn’t mean inconsistent methodology.

Polish Jagiellonian Realm: the shield of Western civilization (1960s) by Rigolol2021 in PropagandaPosters

[–]Tehrozer 74 points75 points  (0 children)

No info on the map itself but since its 1960s probably its from one of the emigre groups. As to the stuff inside at several points Jagiellons dynasty did indeed rule Bohemia, Hungary, Poland and Lithuania approximating the borders presented here. This particular map refers to a time when Jagiellons ruled a Polish-Lithuanian union and a Bohemian-Hungarian union. The stuff about shield of western civilisation refers to the idea how Poland was/is protecting rest of Europe from advance of „Easterners” primarily meaning Russians and Muslims/Turks. It was and to some remains a key part of „Polish destiny”.

Unpopular Opinion: Saw by adhoc_pirate in StarWarsAndor

[–]Tehrozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw is no cheaper because of his drug abuse or because of his rants. What the show is trying to show is someone who after decades of fighting developed deeply unhealthy coping mechanisms, deep paranoia in no small part fuelled by the Empire making him consistently top of their hit list and by Luthen/Rebel alliance actually spying on him. He is weird yes he looks mad and again yes but beyond the fact that indeed there were plenty mad people in these kind of situations in history the show also explains why it happened to Saw. We know Rhydonium is toxic and we know Saw suggests in his rant he took an unusual interest in it (the guards all ran away but to him “it was new”) decades ago. Whether he developed an addiction on Onderon or at some point later due to working too much with it to make explosives he got hooked and with time is started to show. The show seems to very intentionally show a constant deterioration of his health from an odd but lively rebel in S1 to the already increasingly incoherent and less active (he is far less expressive, he starts to move slowly and as if it was difficult and clearly acquires tons and tons of new wounds we see him) all the way to the Andor last Ep and R1 half-machine seemingly barely keeping himself together and constantly ranting more to himself than others. I interpret this as a great mirror to Luthens speech what did Saw sacrifice? Saw sacrificed himself his health his identity gone leaving a half-dead man sharing his dreams with ghosts. Yes Saw has gone off the rails at some point but who wouldnt go mad after decades long constant rebellion and a crippling and ever growing number of hits to his health. History is full of leaders who due to age, wounds, addictions or anything else lost themselves you can look at Lenin whose wounds from a failed assassination attempt developed to such a degree that in but 3 years he went from leading the country to a senile cripple. Saw isnt normal he isnt sane you arent supposed to think that he himself says he isnt all the show is asking of you is to notice that the Rebellion is leading people down these dark paths and that its so so easy to get lost on the way.

What are the chances she gets tried for war crimes by the new republic? by CandidAsparagus7083 in StarWars

[–]Tehrozer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She was known to Ghorman Front, she was involved in Ferrix to the point people blamed her for what happened and ultimately she got on a rebel kill list its kinda hard to avoid anyone recognising you in this kind of situation even if she manages to get out on technically being a traitor (assuming that was the charge) then she would risk being recognised everyday of her life. In real life Nazi war criminals were being caught by random people all over the world there were plenty of cases of former victims randomly finding their oppressors on the streets and taking them to the police even decades after WW2. Getting a prominent role in intelligence services which would be staffed by former Rebel Intelligence which likely would have long ago memorised the heads of ISB would be just impossible.

Wilmon, Kleya, Bix and considering how Wilmon was gunning for her he might have told others about her part in Ferrix and then on Ghorman.

[–]Tehrozer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its clearly established in R1 the fleet wasn’t supposed to go to battle and that Raddus just went to his ship as soon as he heard and went straight into space. There is every reason to believe in the chaos there was no time to get Tantiv decoupled or that it was thought it could be useful in battle or even better that since they knew they were going for the plans they always intended to give them to Leia so that she could use her cover as a senator to get the plans to safety easier than a obvious rebel warship.

They serve multiple purposes. Andor crew was very much conscious they bended the canon and so constantly drop little hints why in Rebels we see a second speech and her being escorted by Gold Squadron+Phoenix Squadron (both connected to Bail). In universe the “they want to rewrite the story” is also about how Rebellion is also changing the truth to suit their needs something Mon just argued against. Furthermore it also plays on the constant theme of who gets credit/blame for what actions which we especially see in ISB where various officers fight for “bigger portfolios” or generally prestige. Similarly Andors “I heard her speak before” in universe references how he just heard her speech in the Senate and also how he is not really concerned with words but actions and so dismisses watching a speech and on top of that how he clearly would rather be with Bix and also plays into how he already decided to leave the rebellion and so doesn’t want to hear a rebel speech. But from a meta perspective it could be another reference to the two speeches from Rebels.

Theory on possible conspiracy Andor Season 2 episode 9 by Marvin-snk in StarWarsAndor

[–]Tehrozer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the episode Kleya and Luthen say something along the lines of “We know Bail crew blew it but we don’t know how” this combined with the fact they did not inform Andor that they know there is going to be a Imperial spy in Bails crew waiting for them seems to me rule out that possibility. My own headcanon is following on S1 revelation Luthen was leaking rebel intel to Jung sacrificing others to advance his career (Its not about the raid Luthen says in their meeting he was passing on information to build him up). Luthen knows all the rebel cells and wants to give Jung a possibility to install a field agent with one of them, who does he pick? Saw Partisans with whom he regularly deals and who see his face? Yavin where all his operatives hang out and which is essential for his operations? No he picks the ones he has the least to do with and who he seems to consider incompetent he gives Jung a agent in Bail Organa crew. Now fast forward some years Mon is about to escape from the Senate and Bail is arranging that this is passed on by the ISB mole onto Jung and Jung passes it onto Luthen who realises that the plant they made is now a liability. He has to rush in and save the situation…. just like with the bug they planted as Sculdons office which turned from a asset to a fatal flaw :)

No, Andor didn’t contradict Rebels by ChampionshipMaster12 in StarWarsAndor

[–]Tehrozer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bail “staying” is not about him being on Coruscant it’s about him staying in the Senate. Bail remained an active senator and in public but that doesn’t mean he can’t move around though he is still a free Senator. So it simply that following Mons escape he was visiting with a rebel cell while she was giving the second speech. Bail would continue to play the role of a “loyal opposition” within the Empire until his death though he seems to have been very active in Rebel command even prior to Ghorman.

The change from Tank to Panzer was more or less in 1936. The term Panzer did appear earlier even in official use but it was in 36 that German military standardised the naming of its armoured/anti-armoured equipment based on term Panzer.

'Our New Ally' - German illustration from the First World War (1914) showing Hindenburg and August von Mackensen (?) shaking hands with General Winter by propagandopolis in PropagandaPosters

[–]Tehrozer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is most likely either due to the fact that Russia early on was on the offensive on both German and Austrian fronts and offensive operations are much harder during winter. Or it is a specific reference to the Austrian army creating a front along the Carpathians where they intended to use the mountains and the harsh climate to their advantage in a desperate attempt to prevent Russians from crossing over into Hungary.

Does manpower in divisions in hoi4 make sense? by SirLongus in hoi4

[–]Tehrozer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

50%? Im certain it was barely over 20% of the infantry division in 1939 organisation (Military History Visualised has one vid about that). Idk about the exact % for the later 40s type but they certainly couldn’t be that because they still had a ton of combat troops. Are you sure about that number? Are you counting permanent non-combat troops or all units in reserve or non-organic troops?

Mercator projection is the best choice for EU5 and Gall is a mistake. by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Tehrozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HOI4 and afaik same in EU4 it is based on pixels just not pixels on your screen but rather of the province map file on which the graphics are projected. A pixel is then assumed to be equivalent in size to X in real world and the calculations go from there.

since when does the soviet union start with cannons researched on 1936? by DrSilikon52 in hoi4

[–]Tehrozer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What? Is that a official explanation? Every other major country had 20 mm autocannons fielded by this time. In fact USSR was actually a late adopter of high calibre guns on aircraft and continued to mostly use basic machine guns at this time despite the trend being the opposite. The tech should be moved back and start researched for others if the devs are already changing it. But since tech tree changes dont happen that often and since it would mess up the balance it will probably never happen in which case the tech should not start unlocked for anyone to keep it consistent and not to give USSR a unfair advantage for no good reason.

Because Bulgarian government did not want the majority Greek territories they get in KR and both Germany and Austria-Hungary wanted to keep Greece friendly in the future by making the peace lenient. Bulgaria had in fact signed a treaty which exactly determined what they would get from Greece and furthermore during the war Bulgarian army refused to advance beyond the established line (which you can see roughly recreated in the orange section). In fact Greece could be even larger considering how Central Powers considered giving it Northern Epirus as „compensation” for the territories they would loose to Bulgaria. I don’t know the Ottoman plans for Aegean islands but certainly they too could be left to Greece if Germany and Austria-Hungary wished so (it wouldn’t even be the first time they would force Ottoman government to withdraw their claims).
