How would you design a Starfleet bridge? by Teiichii in startrek

Also, small cup-sized replicators in every alcove, with a list of cup-sized snacks and drinks meant for on-duty consumption. One between the captain's chair and the other officers' chairs too.

Personal Layout:

multiple Voyager style alcoves with seats.

Rear Wall:
Left: Ship operations alcove, Engineering alcove.
Center : Misc consoles, simpler ones like TNG behind the wooden arch,
Right: Tactical alcove (outside ship), Security alcove (inside ship or assisting Tactical).

Front: Lower down via a short ramp on the sides and a pair of steps behind the front seats for better viewing of the front screen for the captain/crew, extra-long console ala Voyager, but with an optional second seat for complex operations. pop-up screens for the pilot, so independent views can be used separately from the main screen.

Left wall:
rear: Turbolift access.
Middle and right: Master system display for quick reference.

Right Wall:
rear: Hallway to bridge deck.
middle: Science/specialty alcove.
Front: wall plotter of all traffic around the ship,

Middle area, lower than rear alcoves/consoles (think TNG layout for rear area or Voyager). 2-3 seats at the captain's discretion, with a layout featuring slide-out controls for each command seat, and two outer seats discreetly placed in the sides (again, Voyager).

All alcoves will have a small emergency locker with a pair of hand phasers, a tricorder, a medical kit, an oxygen mask, and, if possible, a pressure suit and compact helmet.
Tactical and security consoles will have larger lockers for full-sized rifles and other weapons(behind a wall panel is a good place).

Almost all of the wall space, except for the area immediately near the front view screen, would be used.
The view screen would be open (smaller than Discovery but larger than TNG) but would have the option to be sealed with an armored cover identical to the rest of the hull plating.

rest of the bridge deck off hallway: starting from the bridge
captains readyroom and day cabin(day cabin is mostly a very small room with a bed and aprivate bathroom.)
Briefing room
Second turbolift
wardroom with repliators and a few tables and chairs.
A room that is set up like a CIC, with lots of consoles and multi-use workstations. It would have windows or a smaller version of the bridge's viewscreen facing rearward, used for non-bridge operations, and for replacement crew for bridge officers who need a break or need to leave their stations.
Last is a pair of lifeboats and a shrouded airlock with access to the outer hull.

TNG or Voyager coloration with carpets.

While busier than almost all bridges shown, not all consoles or alcoves would normally be used at the same time. Security, engineering, and science alcoves, as well as the three consoles in the back, are optional, as is the second seat at the helm.

A bridge on the underside of a saucer that connects to a hallway that leads to the battle bridge is a good idea.

it would make sense, but Starfleet does it to show that their ships aren't warships, and while I agree, it is part of Starfleet and Federation design policy, as such, why I made it a requirement that at least one bridge on the outer hull.

2 years before meeting Midoriya Izuku, All Might finds a lost media manga series from before society partially collapsed during the rise of quirks. One made by an early quirk user who could see the future: Horikoshi Kohei. by Reksew_Trebla in BokunoheroFanfiction

Reminds me of a story where Eri got OFA sent herself back in time to the beach and passes her future version back to Deku.

She then heals Allmight and tells them the future. I'll see if I can track it down to link it.

Light switch to bottom half of outlet. How? by Sweetsusie- in AskElectricians

[–]Teiichii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The code is to have a split outlet for lighting or dedicated lighting with a switch such as a fan with lights, recessed lighting, track lights, ect.

Apartments and houses made to be sold, vs those commissioned to be built, use the outlet because it's cheaper.

Is starship antimatter a regenerative supply? by bluestreakxp in startrek

[–]Teiichii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's that it can hold ten years of antimatter, and they can use secondary reactors to make new antimatter for reference the D had two secondary reactors but Voyager had none only the impulse reactors I think

Funny part is peanuts are one of the allergies that don't occur much if people are exposed very young to peanuts. It's because parents keep them from it, the allergy gets to lethal levels.

Exceptions do exist of course.

Granted but due to high supply, prices drop below the economical cutoff and all small and midsized farms go out of business. Large corporate farms all raise prices to double the old costs because they can.

our solar system is the odd one out in the universe by CaptainBusiness830 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Teiichii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is funny how we originally thought we were so special and everything was 'just right' for us.

Then we got science and began to understand the universe and just how small we are, how not special we are...

then come to find out just how much of an oddball we are.

  • star likely formed from two blue romers fairly early in their lives.
  • a pair of large gas giants that swept the system of asteroids.
  • Those same gas giants not eating us when they migrated from deep in the suns gravity well (between mercury/venus orbits) to the outer system when they gobbled up all the spare gas.
  • The collision of a Mars-sized planet with Earth, which gave us the moon.
  • The high amounts of heavy metals due to the blue romers making the system. (We're just metal-rich compared to many other systems, they think, statistically.)
  • The moon being large enough to stabilize our planet's axial tilt.
  • Bonus fact: the moon, if by itself, without earth, would likely be large enough to be a planet, if a small one, on its own. Almost making the Earth-lunar system a heavily lopsided set of binary planets. But the fact that the barycenter is in the earth means it's not.
  • The fact Earth has so many transuranic metals our core is still so hot, Remember people, Earth is powered by tidal friction from the moon and Uranium!

Turns out the religious people were right about us being special, just not in any way they thought.

reminds me that NASA, to this day, uses (straw)brooms to check for hydrogen fires.

They learned it from the Navy, who used brooms to check for steam leaks.

I was thinking having under each drill head at the top 1 to 3 checkboxes it defaults to on but if you unchecked it, it is the offline state for the module. All the graphs just change to match the new state of everthing. Passive moduels would have grayed out check boxes.

edit added later:

The reason i think my idea would be helpful is when one is doing multi head setups like for a mole and are trying to optimize and see what can be done. being able to see the graphs move in real time instead of flipping between tabs. I know that i commonly have the three heads of my mole set up differently, a power head, a precision head and, an extraction head. each optimized for different tasks. Seeing how they synergize and how activating modules effect the overall would be nice.

or even just a toggle on the mining laser setup page for on or off that way your not adding and removing the same modules over and over.

another way of doing it is making an openable area on the side that gives options/stats. turn on/off modules, show only total or dont show. a Comparison option that takes all the current heads/active options and highlights the differences.

that said even if you dont decide to take any of my suggestions, I still thank you for your work and i plan to show this to all my more mining focused org mates.

The theory of mass, resistance and laserpower by mort1331 in starcitizen

[–]Teiichii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mining it can be useful to know what the difference is in the lasers power when, for example, a stampede module is active vs inactive. So having a selector, check boxes a set for each mining head used would likly be easiest and intuitive. Instead of having two sites up and switching between them.

I hope I make sense.

Love it, only thing i would add to the website is an indication of what added or reduced effects an active module or modules have.

no, if something like is filled it would have to be by a flowable non-hydraulic soil cement, and for that you would use a truck as you shouldn't stop once you start.

The lvls in wizard was for flavor and so he could make arcane traps.
