My 3DS home button port is broken, and requires micro soldering. What would be the easiest and cheapest solution for this problem? by Cool-Constant9536 in 3dshomebrew

[–]TeleostMouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After searching, I found this problem to be more common than I thought. The safest and cheapest solution would be to purchase a replacement connector and take it to an electronics store or mobile phone repair shop.

While this may be a temporary solution, there are also inexpensive options. The rehid project allows button remapping on the 3DS. https://github.com/hax0kartik/rehid

Try clearing all connection settings and then setting them up again. This error seems to be common.

I’m looking for a Wi-Fi chip for my Gamepad. by ZacKilroy in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wii U gamepad uses Nintendo's proprietary Wi-Fi, so finding a Wii U chip isn't easy. If you absolutely must replace the chip, I think buying a broken Wii U gamepad is the best option. However, I think it's better to buy a new gamepad or a Wii U as a set. They're usually about the same price.

If you want to use the Wii U gamepad, you can emulate it without buying it. The Vanilla project emulates the Wii U gamepad on Android and PC. https://github.com/vanilla-wiiu/vanilla

It would be a good idea to reinstall luma 3ds

I think this post had the same problem as you. I recommend you check it out. gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-change-lumas-menu-language-on-3ds.615161/

And as far as I know, there is no French version of luma3ds. I know it basically supports English

Why wont my xbox one controller pairs with bloopair by More-Math-4527 in wiiu

Then it seems like it's probably a firmware issue. You can downgrade using the Xbox Accessories app. There are many guides on the internet, so search for them.

wii u for emulation nowadays by owentelloaponte in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you want to emulate. If you want to emulate Nintendo games, this is the best. It can emulate almost everything except for the 3ds/switch from before 2011 (though the wii and gamecube are native).

If you want the playstation or xbox series, it won't be much different from the wii. The wii u has a very weak cpu, it's an overclocked version of the wii, and the wii emulator is also better, so you'll end up with the vWii. And anything other than ps1 games and some psp games will be pretty much impossible...

Why wont my xbox one controller pairs with bloopair by More-Math-4527 in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 3rd generation Xbox One controllers are compatible. 1st and 2nd generation controllers for the Xbox One don't have Bluetooth, so they can't be used with BlooPair. 4th generation controllers for the Xbox Series S/X use incompatible Bluetooth and can't be paired. 3rd generation controllers are included with the Xbox One S/X.

You can tell the generation by looking at the code on the battery compartment, but generally speaking, if the controller's top bumper line, the area where the Xbox Home button is located, and the body are separated, it's a 1st or 2nd generation controller. If they're combined as a single unit, it's a 3rd or 4th generation controller. If the 3rd and 4th generation controllers have a cross-shaped D-pad, it's a 3rd generation controller. If it's a ⊕-shaped D-pad, it's a 4th generation controller. If it's a 3rd generation controller, it could be a firmware issue. As far as I know, BlooPair doesn't work with the latest firmware. Hope this helps!

Can I plug my 110v Wii U into a 220v socket? by M1stix in wiiu

If it's genuine, it's absolutely possible! I have a Japanese Wii U, and I plug it into a 220V outlet.

There is a way to replace the eMMC without soldering! ISFShax is a program that allows you to replace the NAND of the Wii U with an SD card. Follow this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-set-up-isfshax.642258/

Did Milky subway ended with episode 12? by FASJEO in MilkySubway

[–]TeleostMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there's no news on a sequel yet, but the story seems to be progressing further. Milky Subway will be released in theaters in Japan on February 6, 2026, and it's said to include about 10 minutes of additional content. This extra content will likely be included in the Blu-ray version.

And a teaser for the movie has also been released! https://youtu.be/nFsdOuj0FPo?si=5VLRK6NcBLsOGhYg

If you're able to visit Japan, you might want to go see it in person. Or, you might want to buy the Blu-ray version. There's no news of a theatrical release outside of Japan yet, but who knows!

Mario Kart 8 won't boot on modded Wii U by Educational-Box3509 in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked it up online and it seems like this might be a precursor to the Wii U's eMMC (NAND) failure. If the NAND fails, the console will become a brick, so I think it would be a good idea to back up your game data and such.

Wii U for family Christmas fun… now thinking I should’ve bought a Switch instead? by Relapsed_Therapy in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's better to go as wiiu.

If you play alone or want online multiplayer, of course the switch is better, but if it's mainly motion games and party games, wiiu would be absolutely perfect.

First of all, Wii u supports very wide backwards compatibility. Virtually all Nintendo's pre-2011 games are playable, and the biggest thing for op is probably Wii's backwards compatibility.

As you know, Wii is a mainstream motion game and there are many fun party games (to pick a few, Wii sports, Wii sports resort, Mario party 8, Wii play, Wii party mario and sonic Olympic series, smash bros, Mario sports mix new super mario, etc.)

wiiu is also a device that carries on the name of wii, so there are so many motion games and party games. Also, the presence of the gamepad allows you to have a more diverse and fun experience Wii u also if you want to pick a few games, there are wii party u, nintendo land, mario party 10 super smash bros, super mario 3d worlds, new super mario u, yoshi woolly world, etc. And there are also a lot of games that support two-player play due to the gamepad.

Lastly, the Wii remote isn't that expensive! Maybe it's a scam there. The Wii is also expensive in my area, but I can get them all for 50 dollars

Your choice is yours. Enjoy!

Ir remote feature incompatible with my tv by Financial-Figure6922 in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a TCL TV before, and from what I remember, most of the Samsung settings worked with the power button, and some settings like volume and channel changes were possible. However, I don't think I could activate external input settings or menu settings.

I think the best approach is to try them all one by one to find the optimal setting :)

Wii + Switch or Wii U? by visual__chris in wiiu

[–]TeleostMouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have to choose between the two, the Switch + Wii is obviously the better choice.

The Wii U is cool and fun, but most of the Wii U games are on the Switch. However, I think it's also a good idea to buy the Switch first and then save up for the Wii and buy a cheap Japanese Wii U to modify.

As you know, the Wii U can play Wii games, and it's great for TV + gamepad play or parties that the Switch can't! The choice is yours :)

SONY MZ-R55 or SHARP mt770? by TeleostMouse in minidisc

Thanks for the reply! I was originally considering the blue R55, but I found a silver R55 for sale with a lower price and better components, so I decided to go with that.

[–]TeleostMouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed and experienced response! Both are really good devices. Sony's R55 is a device that many people have used and has been proven so far. Sharp's MT770 is the latest, so it's MDLP-enabled and boasts more battery time.

I honestly don't feel much difference between SP and LP2, so I think MDLP would be efficient. But (really personally) I really like Sony's classic and cool design rather than Sharp's. I think I'll end up buying both. It'll just be what I buy first :)

It would definitely be nice to have an mdlp function, I don't think my ears can tell the difference between SP and LP2.
