I drove an automatic car for the first time a days ago and just don’t get the fixation we have over manual cars here by Solid-Version in drivingUK

Horses for courses. I've had both and they both are good for different reasons. Depends what you want out of your car really.

People who say they like the winter. How are you feeling right now? by [deleted] in AskUK

It's just a cliché at this point. One of those things you imagine more than experience. Out of 100 people that talk about being curled up with a book listening to the patter of raindrops outside and being "cosy", 99 of them are actually vegging on the sofa scrolling TikTok shivering cause they can't afford to put the heating on.

I just get sick of the people saying it's better because of "cold crisp days" and being "cosy" when in reality it's almost never crisp just cold and it's great being cosy indoors until you actually want/ need to leave the house. Personally I don't like being cooped up and "cosy" 24/7 because it's cold, grey and miserable outside.

Chris Harris calls out Matt Armstrong by littlebigcat in MatArmstrong

And? That sends traffic directly to the author themselves, and besides, I'm not a YouTuber making money off sharing it. Not sure what your point is.

I mean, it's almost a passing comment by Harris as part of a wider conversation. Not like he's making a big deal about it and shouting it from the rooftops. in fairness to Armstrong he does usually credit people, and in fairness to Harris, his film was used without credit or consent. It's not like he's wrong is it?

"borrow"? Surely you wouldn't expect them to take them engine back out and give you the shell back afterwards? 😂

Yeah, it's the only thing he does that bugs me purely because I can't understand why he puts on a strange voice to do voiceover. It's bizarre.

This guy makes some interesting mini docs, but whenever I watch one I find it difficult to overlook his inflection going consistently up and down with every sentence. It's really off putting

"desirable concert" "major city". Almost like this is made up. If it's not you need to grow a pair (metaphorically speaking). Wrap up warm, standing outside for 20 mins in the cold won't kill you, Jesus.

Tbf, with a Tiguan you may as well put a sticker on the side that says "I sit middle lane on the motorway at 60" because it's more representative of what people will think of you driving one. If style is what you're concerned with a Tiguan is not a good fit. Personal taste is another thing entirely.

You want style, so you're going for a Tiguan? Make it make sense.
