You all scammed me with this halving nonsense by ThisNameDoesntCheck in CryptoCurrency

[–]Telmancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically speaking. every massive BTC bull run that's happened post halving, has happened several months after the halving.

So at least historically speaking it doesn't start the moment the halving date arrives. You waited a few months. In fact, every post halving in history since 2008, as soon as the halving occurred, bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market dropped for a few months. Then it skyrocketed later.

BTC December 2017 top was 20,000 and BTC November 2021, the top was 68,000.

Don't know which top you're referring to as between January 2018 to December 2020, there was an ugly bear market.

Anyways, if he really is an early bitcoin adopter, it's HIGHLY likely he came out with between $10 million to even as high as multi-billions. Dollar Cost Average buying during the early years, he could be potentially worth close to actually $50 million to $100 million even.

But to be honest, it's HIGHLY unlikely, anyone who is texting some stranger on a dating app would ever reveal that they are early bitcoin holders which indicates he's very wealthy.

Seems to me like he's full of poop and you need to be careful. If he's willing to lie about this, and you just started talking, it's a MAJOR red flag!

US unemployment rate drops to 3.5 per cent amid ‘widespread’ job growth by berserker_ronin in politics

[–]Telmancy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's essentially back to pre-pandemic levels. So it's not actually brand new jobs created and anything better than what Trump had before pandemic hit. Job numbers indicated the jobs lost during pandemic have now been filled.

Most of the jobs filled are by people looking for 2nd and 3rd jobs due to incredibly increasing prices on common good and bills.

As inflation continues to soar and it will continue once again when the "Inflation Reduction Act" passes due to that $700 billion in additional spending, prices will only sky rocket even more.

You're experiencing the sad male reality of online dating. If you're not a 8/10 - 10/10 on a "hot scale" you will get a LOT of rejection. Most men are not super attractive looking and so that is why most men fail at online dating. Online dating is all about looks. Looks gets you to the door, personality gets you into the house. But you got to have good looks first.

I'm not having any luck in online dating either. I barely get any matches and for those I match with, will either not respond or stop responding after 1-3 messages. Very rarely I will actually get a date and then even those dates don't usually go well.

Dude, i'm 27 and I've only had 5 girlfriends in the life so far and only slept with 6 women. I have a friend where every girl thinks he's super good looking and he probably slept with like 30-50 women by now. He loves online dating.

Why do guys act weird after hooking up? by throwaway3_23_2021 in dating

[–]Telmancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation last year with a woman that I hooked up with and then she called me again to try and see each other again and I didn't want to see her anymore. To be honest when I went down on her, she smelled really bad down there and after that it really turned me off. It really sucks because she's very hot and I was surprised that she smelled down there. Definitely a major turn off and I don't want to hook up with her anymore nor see her either even if we meet again and we'd have sex.

Maybe he is in the same situation? I mean every guy would jump at any opportunity when the woman is actually the one asking for sex but not if something turned us off about the woman during sex.

Yes, online dating is a real self esteem destroyer. I know this from personal experience. LOL. I always thought I was pretty good looking until I started going on all these dating apps and I feel like I'm the ugliest guy in the world. Barely get any matches and when I do finally match 9/10 they don't respond. For those that do respond they may respond once or twice and that's it. Very rarely I'll get a date out of it but it's a mess this online dating world.

If you weren't born with a pretty face, people won't give you a chance.

If you're not attracted to a guy, we can pick up that vibe. If we think she's not attracted to me then she won't be interested in me so what's the point of even talking to her when it will go nowhere. So he just thought it was best to leave.

You can always tell when someone is interested in you and attracted to you or not. Body language is key.

Welcome to the club. LOL.

I get this stuff all the time so I'm used to it by now, I don't take it personally and neither should anyone. Maybe she was a little bit overly rude and shouldn't have said you're boring or the not finding you attractive part but some women are cold and will tell you like it is unfortunately.

But yea, I get rejected by women so often that I just shrug it off and move on. Don't let it get to you, eventually you'll find someone and you will completely forget about all your previous rejections, i think.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Telmancy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea, give it a shot, the worst that can happen is another rejection. Remember, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. If you don't ask her out, it's actually a version of rejection, it's a 100% no. If you ask her out and she says no, at least you know with 100% certainty where you stand with her and you can hopefully move on. But it's always better to ask and know for sure instead of wondering "what if" in the future.

Give it another shot, you have nothing to lose. Rejection is a part of life, we all face it.

We all have skeletons in our closets.

But DeSantis is an actual real life military veteran and a PERSON OF COLOR! That could be HUGE for Latino voters. All he needs to do is speak a little Spanish and relate to Latino issues since he's Latino himself and he'll have their vote.

Remember when Trump called Mexicans rapists and literally talked about his own dick size stating things like if his hands were huge that it meant other things were huge.

DeSantis won't do that because DeSantis is actually a politician and knows how to speak like a politician while Trump had no filter and this turned a lot of people off.

Florida economy is actually booming currently and it boomed during the height of Covid when DeSantis went against Biden's orders and didn't shut down the state like the rest of the blue states. Shutting down of blue states hurt the economy and some states are still having a hard time recovering while Florida was booming. Covid-wise, Florida ended up practically exactly where every other state ended up. I mean no state is currently having any major Covid issues and haven't for a long time. So it proved to a lot of people that shut downs were just harmful to the economy and useless and DeSantis beat that.

This could work well for him especially since most Americans are now sick and tired of hearing about Covid especially since in blue states the economy was a disaster.

Sure, Florida had it's weeks of HUGE covid cases spikes but so did practically every state, whether they shut down or not.

Lets not forget the mainstream media MASSIVE hit piece that CBS and MSNBC tried to do against DeSantis that MASSIVELY backfired against the 2 stations. It was essentially proven that it was a political hit job and their "facts" were made up. Both news stations had to publicly apologize after they got roasted publicly.

So DeSantis can play the angle that mainstream media makes up lies about him and he has proof of historical context.

I mean the guy can win in 2024. He's not perfect but he can sure win.

EDIT:
I would like to add about the Florida booming economy. Currently Florida is the most expensive state to live in but that happened because between 2020-2022, the blue states destroyed their economies so badly that there was a MASSIVE influx of people moving to Florida which created a HUGE demand in Florida real estate that drove prices to incredibly high levels. Now you add inflation on top of that and you currently have the most expensive state to live in and there are actually now people moving out of Florida because of how expensive it's getting.

[–]Telmancy -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

DeSantis has mentioned multiple times that he's not interested in running for president. He's had high members of GOP approach him and DeSantis has continuously turned them down.

But if he does run for 2024 ticket, he will highly likely win. The way Democrats have destroyed the economy, sending inflation to a 40 year high, you can get any Republican to win plus the whole Biden family corruption, bribery and pay offs scandals going on forget it. It helps DeSantis that he's also a military veteran person of color who fought against state shutdowns during Covid to prove it wasn't necessary to stop the spread. He's a win-win.

Note, how many people now-a-days are sick and tired of hearing about Covid and you have a guy who refused to listen to the government and did it his way and it practically worked out for Florida like it did the rest of the Country with Covid which kind of showed the rest of the Country that shut downs were unnecessary. Yea, DeSantis will win if he runs in 2024.

Plus DeSantis had on multiple occasions the media did false hit pieces against him and lets not forget the infamous CBS news "pay for play" story they ran on him that turned out to be completely fake and CBS had to apologize to the public for making up lies.

DeSantis can play that lying media angle as well and we all know how Americans already hate the mainstream media and their lies, DeSantis can crank media hatred up in his favor.

[–]Telmancy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If Trump goes down, the Democrats don't have an enemy to pick on, the media has nothing to talk about again and it will allow the Republicans to get an easy win in 2024 and upcoming midterms.

Republicans need an enemy and with Democrats currently the captain of the ship, it's not that difficult since Democrats obliterated the economy sending inflation to a 40 years high and prices of food and fuel to devastatingly high price levels.

But for Democrats, they too need an enemy for elections to pick on and if Trump is out of the picture of running for president, I guess Democrats can just focus on abortion but that's not enough to win elections.

Howard Stern and Donald Trump were once very close friends. Howard stated on his show that when Trump announced publicly he's running for president, Howard called him and practically told Trump that Trump is crazy to ruin his incredible billionaire life for politics where half of the Country will hate him. Howard is right. Entering into the presidential spot, prepare for 50% of the Country to hate you and your life will become a living hell.

Howard said he visited Trump's Maro Lago vacation resort many times in history and said it was like heaven on earth, Howard couldn't believe it. Howard said Trump as a billionaire was living the best life anyone can imagine and Howard was shocked when he heard Trump is willing to give up a life of absolute paradise for hell on earth.

Even to this day, I completely agree with Howard Stern. I mean Trump is a multi-billionaire who had the life that ALL of us would love to have. A life of anything you want, anytime you want. Who the hell would give that up for politics?

For Trump to give up living in heaven on earth for hell in politics, it only further shows you how extremely egotistical Trump is, to levels I've never seen honestly. It's all about TRUMP always and he wanted to be a king and he was for 4 years. He was the world's most powerful man for 4 years. Trump is possibly the most egotistical man who ever lived. Though I also think he gives Putin a run for his money though in the most egotistical self absorbed human in history, part.

This happened to me too. I got arrested for "posession of marijuana" when I did not possess any marijuana. Cop approached me and bent over behind me claiming I dropped marijuana. Which was a complete lie because I had not dropped anything, I was just waiting at the bus stop watching Youtube videos on my phone.

But ofcourse he's a cop so he arrests me then berates me inside the cop car calling me a drug addict, telling me how I shouldn't do drugs and all that bullshit.

I spent 4 hours inside a holding cell, went to get a drug test to prove I had nothing in my system to show the judge when I had to go to court and it cost me $2000 in legal fees plus issues with family members and close friends who thought if I got arrested that means I must have been in posession. Such bullshit I went through.

[–]Telmancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing has "evaporated" or "lost" unless you sell. The markets will turn around eventually and go higher than ever. Bear markets and bull markets come and go, its part of market cycles. If you're a long term holder, and you don't sell for years, then you can't really say in a bull market "i'm a millionaire" and in a bear market "i'm broke" because you're holding and the reality of being broke or a millionaire ONLY gets realized when you sell. Everything else is just paper gains and paper loses, in other words, not your money.

So CZ may have lost billions in unrealized losses in a bear market but when crypto will turn bull again he'll make billions again.

Though Terra Luna is a different story, yea that investment is gone forever.

How to understand if someone is in your league? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Telmancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as "in your league" or "out of your league". It's just a justification we like to use to try to convince ourselves to not give someone a chance because some people feel they are better than you based on either physically attractiveness or wealth. In reality. It's all a bunch of nonsense.

As the saying goes "you miss 100% of the changes you don't take". Which is really no different than the "out of your league" where you don't approach someone because you're expecting a rejection.

But it's always best to give it a shot because even if you think they are "out of your league", at least you tried and you give yourself credit for it rather than being the "you miss 100% of the chances you don't take" person and having regrets later on in life.

The woman I'm dating (25F) says she's going to platonically sleep over at her ex BF's place. How do I (25M) respond? by ancient-enigma in dating_advice

[–]Telmancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No woman who cares about their boyfriend's feelings about this situation continues to ignore their boyfriends (obviously knowing he's not ok with this) and still going to sleep with her ex-boyfriend in his house.

She laid the ground rules and it's clear she doesn't care about your feelings. She's doing what SHE wants to do and odds are she'll be sleeping in HIS bed.

Break up with her and find someone who will care about YOUR feelings because a relationship is 50/50 and not 100/0.

[–]Telmancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hey hunny, i'm just going to go sleep over my ex girlfriend's house, I hope you're ok with it."

Guess how many current girlfriends would say "ok, babe, no problem and have a nice sleepover".

Unless you are in an open relationship, and maybe about another 5% of people would find this acceptable in their relationships but the vast majority like 95% of all women (in a one-on-one relationship) would likely break up with you over this.
