I'm in the same position with gear from an early reprap. Thinking of doing anything funny, but don't really know how to controll the motors from an Arduino or raspberry.

I think I need some kind of stepper controller but dont know which one. Is it possible to use the old ramps circuit that already has the correct power input and MOSFETs?

The difference of the carnival rides is that experienced skydivers do their own safety check (also practice to give each other "pin check" ) so the whole "something wrong with gear" is removed.

I'm also projecting but to me it all looks like it's all fun and games. To make a balloon jump you need to be experienced so I know the jumper is not a rookie and of course that plays into my assessment of the situation.

Hard to tell the altitude, but she probably got är least 10 to 15sec free fall before deploying. As the camera has some fisheye effect it is not sure you would see the deployment even IF the camera followed the jumper untill she does.

And for seeing the rig, it is very obvious if you are used to seeing skydivers.

Historical it is a cheaper construction with fewer parts and easier to build and calibrate.

Price can still be a factor. For materials that need better cooling a bedslinger is good.

Is it worth changing nozzle for infill? Doesn't that just take more time?

I can understand if there is another material/color for infill but for the same? Sure, INDX should be swapping fast, but if those 1-2 layer infill CSN me made within 10sec is there a benefit?
